Throughout the repetitive, yet wondrously tantalizing mobile and PC game that is Marvel Snap, fans will collect new cards to utilize in their various decks. With dozens upon dozens of different characters and items represented on these cards, players have plenty of choices and combinations they can put together, making for an entertaining take on the 'collect-build-battle' gameplay style.

Some cards, arguably, are simply better in the title's overall meta. Obviously, these cards are more popular choices for top decks in the game's different competitive game modes. That said, gamers should be mindful of such cards that consistently appear in meta-themed decks, as they can cross over the difference between ranks.

10 Magik

Of all the 3-Cost cards available in Marvel Snap, Magik stands out as one of the most unique, as she holds an On Reveal ability that makes a match last longer. Magik is a 3-Cost card with 2 Power, but her ability makes her truly stand out.

Magik has the On Reveal capability to turn the location she was played on into Limbo, which ensures the game has a seventh round. This ability helps players not only gather more Power onto locations by the end of the game, but also throws opponents off their strategy as one would usually expect there to only be six rounds.

9 Professor X

Professor X is one of the most highly appraised cards in all of Marvel Snap's list, as it has become known as one of the best countering and interference cards in the game. Professor X is a 5-Cost card with only 3 Power, but has a wonderfully useful Ongoing ability, which locks down a location.

When Professor X has a location locked down, no cards can be removed, added, destroyed, and so on from said location. This powerful strategy can counter many types of decks, especially movement-themed decks, and can ensure an early victory.

8 Sunspot

Since Marvel Snap's official release, Sunspot has been a famous name in the competitive community. Sunspot is a 1-Cost card with no Power (0 Power). However, its unique ability states that if the player has any leftover Energy from the last round, Sunspot gains that much Power.

For example, if players end the third round with two Energy that went unspent, Sunspot gains +2 Power. With this in hand, players can combine Sunspot with other cards (such as Infinaut) to perform a beautiful orchestra of stealthy strategy.

7 Snowguard

Series Four cards are some of the most amazing additions to Marvel Snap's entire collection, and Snowguard is at the top of Series Four's list. Snowguard is a 1-Cost card with 2 Power. Not only can this card provide 2 Power onto a location, but Snowguard can also transform into a Hawk or Bear each turn.

When Snowguard has taken on the appearance of the Bear card, she has the On Reveal ability to trigger the location's ability. When she transforms into a Hawk, her On Reveal ability states that all location effects are ignored the next turn. This card has exceptional versatility, making it a great asset in the meta.

6 Darkhawk

Darkhawk and darkhawk card

Darkhawk is one of the most referenced cards when it comes to the best cards in Marvel Snap, but also stands out as one of the most underrated. With a similar power to Ronan the Accuser, Darkhawk's Ongoing ability states that he gets +2 Power for each card in the opponent's deck.

Being a 4-Cost card with 0 Power, Darkhawk has a grand potential for being a monstrous character to be played onto a location, as long as players pair him up with synergistic cards. With just three cards in the opponent's deck, Darkhawk instantly becomes a card with 6 Power.

5 Phoenix Force

The Phoenix Force was first introduced as a part of the July 2023 Season Pass, titled Rise of the Phoenix. Immediately, Phoenix Force made waves throughout the community as one of the best additions to any movement-themed deck.

Phoenix Force is a 4-Cost card with 5 Power, along with the On Reveal ability to revive a destroyed card, merge with it, and allow said card to move each turn. With the right approach, players can use cards like Human Torch or Multiple Man to create a devastating offensive to take over at least two locations.

4 Legion

Legion in marvel snap

Legion is a 5-Cost card, and one of the best 5-Cost cards at that. With an incredible 8 Power at his side, Legion fights hard alongside his allies at a location and helps to reap the benefits of a location. His On Reveal ability turns each location into the one that he is played upon.

With certain locations (Fisk Tower, Isle of Silence, Kamar-Taj, etc.), Legion can allow that location to boost specific cards' Power and abilities. Some locations can also throw a wrench in opponents' plans, such as enemy movement decks attempting to play on Fisk Tower (if a card moves at Fisk Tower, it is destroyed).

3 Spider-Ham

spider-ham with the spider-ham card and pig card

Regarded as one of the best cards that only cost 2 Energy, Spider-Ham is an interference character that provides a spectacular technique in Marvel Snap. After Spider-Ham's debut in the June 2023 Spider-Versus Season Pass, he caused a significant impact on the game's meta as a card that could completely disrupt an opponent's plans.

Spider-Ham is a 2-Cost card with 2 Power. He also has the On Reveal ability to turn the highest-Cost card in the opponent's hand into a Pig. Although that card may retain the Power and Cost of its initial character, the Pig completely loses any ability of its former self, crippling it immensely.

2 Thanos

Thanos in marvel snap

As one of the best 6-Cost cards in Marvel Snap, Thanos brings a remarkable gameplay mechanic to the virtual card game that no other card does. Thanos adds the Infinity Stones (as cards) into the player's deck.

With enough skillful and lucky plays, players can eventually gather all the Infinity Stones and have them played (they each cost 1 Energy) onto the table. Afterward, Thanos will gain +10 Power, which adds to his already impressive 10 Power. With all the stones played, Thanos becomes a formidable 20-Power powerhouse.

1 Kitty Pryde

Kitty Pryde was first released into Marvel Snapas a 'broken' card, meaning that she was more than capable of stringing along wins for players with plenty of interaction that caused bugs. After a quick fix, Kitty Pryde is still a strategic card that fans can use to beat their opponents in competitive modes.

Kitty Pryde is a 1-Cost card with 2 Power. She also has a unique ability that causes her to return to the player's hand at the start of each turn, and when she does return to their hand, she gains +1 Power. This ability helps her stack up Power before finalizing on turn 6/7.

Marvel Snap is available on PC and mobile devices.
