  • Albums in Marvel Snap follow specific themes and reward players for completing sets of card variants with various exclusive rewards.
  • Future seasons of Marvel Snap will feature shop takeovers, making certain variants more accessible to players utilizing the album feature.

Marvel Snap continues to add new features even a year after its launch, the latest of which is the addition of albums for players to try and collect. One of the main draws of Marvel Snap is the fact that its monetization model is fairly unintrusive, with players only really being asked to pay for optional cosmetics. In an effort to prevent the game from becoming pay-to-win, Marvel Snap's album feature is a great way to incentivize players to purchase cosmetics, so that the game doesn't have to implement more controversial monetization strategies.

Card variants are the main type of cosmetic players can obtain in Marvel Snap, with each card having a series of alternate artworks that range in rarity. Many card variants follow a similar theme, such as Venomized variants, or showcase artwork from a different artist, like Dan Hipp variants, bringing a wide variety of art styles to cards in Marvel Snap. Albums capitalize on the player's desire to collect cards of a certain style by rewarding players for completing specific sets with several different types of rewards, including some exclusive to the album feature.

The Next Big Step For Marvel Snap Seems Clear

Marvel Snap has managed to retain its popularity for almost a whole year now, and there's one big leap forward that the game still needs to make.

How Albums Work in Marvel Snap

Each album in Marvel Snap follows a specific theme, whether it be a specific variant type or artist, and will have 12 card variants players will need to collect to complete it. Luckily, the variants needed to complete an album will all be ones available from the Daily Offer shop, so players won't have to worry about spending money on expensive bundles or the season pass in order to complete these albums. However, there is an incentive to purchase Marvel Snap's Gold currency to spend on these variants in the Daily Offer shop, since the rewards for completing an album can be quite enticing.

Rewards are given out at different intervals as players collect 3, 6, 9, and all 12 cards necessary to complete an album. There are currently four different albums for players to complete, and each offers various rewards, including currency, Spotlight Keys, exclusive variants and avatars, and even new emotes.

While there are currently only these four albums available, Marvel Snap has confirmed that at least one new album will be added each season. The albums from previous seasons will also remain from season to season, so players won't have to worry about completing one before the season ends.

The recent Hellfire Gala shop takeover was part of the promotion of the album feature, giving players a chance to obtain some of the variants needed to complete the Hellfire Gala album. It appears that future seasons of Marvel Snap will continue to feature shop takeovers for specific albums to help make certain variants more accessible to players utilizing this feature. While the album feature doesn't affect gameplay, it is a nice addition to Marvel Snap that gives players even more opportunities to obtain exclusive cosmetics.
