The official announcement of Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Season Pass DLC revealed that Deadpool, Venom, Morbius, and Storm will be making their way into the game following its launch. It is unknown how these characters will be introduced to the Abbey, or if they will have any narrative-driven combat missions of their own to help flesh them out further. Either way, there will always be characters that Marvel fans wished to also see in Marvel’s Midnight Suns, and Moon Knight was perhaps the most highly requested character of them all during the game’s marketing.

Moon Knight did not end up appearing in Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ playable roster, but he was not omitted from the game completely. Marvel’s Midnight Suns features collectible tarot cards with many iconic Marvel characters depicted on them as fun Easter eggs, and Moon Knight is depicted on one of them. This seems like an innocuous nod to the character exclusively until fans find tarot cards depicting Storm and Deadpool, who are indeed prepped to be DLC characters. Therefore, tarot cards seem to offer a bit of hope to fans who would be excited to have certain characters on the team.

Most Tarot Cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns Represent Characters Unlikely to Be Added as DLC

On the one hand, there are simply too many characters included in tarot cards for Marvel’s Midnight Suns to consider as DLC. That would suggest there are 22 characters arriving later in post-launch content, which would seemingly be absurd unless Firaxis has planned out the next few years with this singular game in mind. Meanwhile, characters such as Death or Uatu would be wildly out of place and may be unrealistic as character additions altogether due to how omnipotent and unrelatable they are. Firaxis would need to consider how these characters would meld with other characters and the protagonist, which could end up being an intriguing challenge all on its own.

Because Deadpool is arriving in Marvel’s Midnight Suns at some point in the future, it is plausible that Death could appear with baggage as the two have been depicted as romantic interests to one another. Otherwise, it could be alluding to characters considered for both DLC and a potential sequel, which Marvel’s Midnight Suns certainly leads into with its ominous post-credits cutscene.

Some Tarot Cards in Marvel’s Midnight Suns Do Leave Hope for Others as DLC

Storm and Deadpool both have their own tarot cards, and as a result, it is possible that any of the characters featured on a card could be included in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. Moon Knight stands out in particular due to how many fans wanted him to be playable, as well as Daredevil.

Still, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has references to many characters who are not featured in tarot that could also be considered later on, and it would be incredible to see a sequel or DLC turn the game into its own Marvel Ultimate Alliance-esque experience with an abundance of iconic characters. Moreover, characters such as Elektra and Daredevil would be logical additions, especially since Blade mentions that he would like Matt Murdock to join his book club.

It is important to note that there is currently no official mention of any DLC plans after Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Season Pass content, and it is also likely that other characters may be reserved for a fully-fledged sequel instead. In the meantime, fans may need to continue waiting with bated breath to see if their favorite Marvel characters will make it into the game, and these tarot cards could explicitly hint at possible candidates.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4, Switch, and Xbox One versions coming later.
