Celestials are some of the most powerful beings in all the Marvel universes. Cosmic beings created by the First Firmament, Celestials are as old as the universe itself. Using their unfathomable abilities, they create order by judging and experimenting on lower lifeforms. Even though the Celestials have an extensive history in Marvel Comics, their role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is just starting.

After being mentioned in films like The Guardians of the Galaxy, the Celestials weren't properly introduced until Eternals was released in 2021. That movie gave fans a glimpse into Celestials like Arishem and Tiamut but still left audiences with a mystery as to how their roles will affect future films. Here's a look at some famous Marvel Celestials who have yet to grace the silver screen.

6 Devron The Experimenter

Devron The Experimenter

Devron is a young Celestial who was tasked with watching over Earth along with another Celestial named Gamiel. Unlike the other Celestials, Devron is quite small as his height is only about the same as the Hulk.

Devron's competitive nature with Gamiel almost led to the destruction of Earth itself. After this, they were assigned to arrange the first meeting between the Kree and the Skrulls. The meeting almost instantly led to war. Devron's story is more comedic than most and could possibly make for a fun addition to the MCU, especially now that Disney is expanding their stories to television and miniseries.

5 Gamiel The Manipulator

Gamiel The Manipulator

Gamiel is the youthful Celestial tasked with watching Earth alongside Devron. Gamiel's personality is much like Devron's in that he is very competitive and ignorant, especially for a Celestial. He and Devron frequently clashed, mostly due to their creations battling.

Gamiel was disgusted that Devron's creations bested his and went as far as sending the Hulk after them as retaliation. Gamiel and Devron may not be considered proper Celestials due to them not being fully grown at birth like all the other ones, but they still could find their way into the MCU at some point.

4 Xodus, The Forgotten

Xodus, The Forgotten marvel comics

Xodus is a Celestial that comes from a group of cosmic mutants who evolved into Celestials. Xodus became aware that eventually there'd be mutants from other worlds who would replace him and the other Celestials. This led to him adopting the belief that he must destroy all mutants that come in contact with him.

Arishem along with the other Celestials found his methods to be unscientific and chose to banish him. He was sent to a dimension beyond all universes and gained the title of Xodus, The Forgotten. With mutants set to make their MCU debut sometime in the near future, maybe Xodus could make an appearance as well.

3 Scathan, The Approver

Scathan, The Approver marvel comics

Scathan, The Approver is a little-known Celestial who made his first appearance during a conflict involving The Living Tribunal. The Living Tribunal is an incredibly powerful being as ancient as the Celestials themselves who guards the multiverse from chaos. During a war between him and a cosmic, godlike child called Protégé, The Living Tribunal called Scathan to aid.

Protégé then managed to copy the Tribunal's powers, an act Scathan disapproved of. Scathan then defeated Protégé and imprisoned him with a Celestial muzzle. The Living Tribunal has been mentioned in the Doctor Strange film so perhaps Scathan could also be confirmed for the MCU soon.

2 Ashema The Listener

Ashema The Listener marvel comics

Ashema The Listener is a female Celestial who took on a human form in order to bring Franklin Richards back to The One Above All for evaluation. While doing so, Franklin managed to teach the Celestial the complex nature of humanity, including their history and emotions. This caused Ashema to change her opinion on Franklin as well as humanity itself. She then betrayed the other Celestials by saving Franklin and his Earth.

However, The Dreaming Celestial took notice and began corrupting Ashema with his powers. It took the Fantastic Four along with Dr. Doom to save her and defeat The Dreaming Celestial. With the Fantastic Four getting their own solo film soon in the MCU, it's entirely possible that Ashema's story could be adapted in one of their future films.

1 The One Above All

One Above All

The oldest and most powerful of all Celestials is The One Above All. He is known as the true leader of the Celestials and is capable of extraordinary feats, even more so than the other Celestials. The One Above All is rarely encountered or spoken of, but his presence is feared by all who know of him. His control of cosmic energy is limitless, and he is able to manipulate space, matter, and time at will.

At one point in the comics, the Celestials were all wiped out by Lord Chaos and Master Order. This led to The One Above All being the only survivor who then created the rebirth of all Celestials. It's only a matter of time before this character makes his appearance in the MCU. With them deciding to dive into more cosmic threats and multiverse events, The One Above All could possibly make his on-screen debut sooner than one might think.
