The new Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law will introduce a whole new group of Marvel universe fans to Bruce Banner's cousin, Jennifer Walters. After gaining the ability to transform into She-Hulk, Walters must juggle the new duties of being a superhero with her burgeoning career as a lawyer. She shares a similar role in her comic book origins.

Throughout her appearances in Marvel Comics throughout the years, She-Hulk has proven to be one of the most formidable Avengers. She's faced some of their greatest threats head-on and survived near-death experiences one too many times. Some could argue she's even stronger than Banner.

8 Graduating From Law School

Before the fateful blood transfusion from Bruce Banner that gave her the ability to become She-Hulk, Jennifer Walters had a promising career in law. She initially enrolled at the prestigious Harvard University and later attended law school at UCLA, where she graduated summa cum laude, the highest honor a U.S. graduate can attain.

As if becoming a thriving defense attorney in Los Angeles wasn't enough of a hurdle to jump, Walters later almost dies after an attack by a mob boss, Nicholas Trask. Thanks to Bruce's blood transfusion, Walters survives near-death and gets revenge on Trask. After all that, she still returns to her law career, dedicated and committed to helping her clients.

7 The Fantastic Five

Early in She-Hulk's superhero escapades, she was invited into the Avengers by Janet van Dyne, a.k.a. the Wasp. The more comfortable she grew with her superhuman abilities, the more Jennifer began to take advantage of their benefits. She becomes a valuable member of the Avengers during the first Secret Wars and even links up with an Eternal, Eros.

Her Avenger-ing ended up making her a prime candidate to replace the Thing in The Fantastic Four for a brief period of time. With them, She-Hulk is essential in defeating Psycho-Man during their adventures in the Microverse. She eventually leaves The Fantastic Four and rejoins the Avengers to battle the villainous team, the Masters of Evil.

6 She-Hulk Vs. John Byrne

She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law carries over Jennifer Walters' ability to break the fourth wall from the comics. This is no more apparent than in the John Byrne-written series The Sensational She-Hulk, which ran from 1989 to 1994. Throughout the series, Walters addresses the audience, travels between panels, and even between entire sections of the comic book.

The series even features a cameo appearance from Byrne himself in over 20 issues of the comic series. Issue #50, in particular, features Jennifer investigating the apparent death of John Byrne and looking for a replacement creator. At the end of the comic, she discovers that Byrne is alive, and in frustration, Jen throws him out of a window to his death.

5 She-Hulk Vs. Vision

She-Hulk plays a significant role in the comic arc Avengers Disassembled, which ran throughout 2004 during the first volume of The Avengers. The series focuses on a mysterious rampage between the Avengers. At one point, She-Hulk is mind-controlled by a mysterious force and in her frenzy, rips the Vision in half.

It later turns out that the force behind the Avengers' madness was none other than Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch herself. She-Hulk, unfortunately, is unable to get revenge against Wanda before she's rescued by her father, Magneto. The experience does, however, render Jen with enough guilt to quit the Avengers and return to her law career.

4 Hooking Up With A Demigod

Jennifer Walters has had many super paramours throughout her comic book history. She's had romantic trysts with Wyatt Wingfoot, Luke Cage, Tony Stark, Juggernaut, and Thor. However, one of her most significant romantic partners in the comics was Hercules, the son of Zeus and a former Avenger himself.

During the second volume of She-Hulk's solo comic run, Jen and Hercules team up to fight a man named Bran Murphy, who becomes the puppet of the Celtic god, Bran the Blessed. Once their fight is over, Jen breaks her "no more sexual pinball" rule to sleep with the demigod in an RV, of all places. Sadly, their fling is brief, despite Jen's pride in the feat.

3 Surviving A Thanos Fight

She-Hulk later becomes a member of A-Force, an all-female superhero team alongside Dazzler and Sister Grimm. During the first issue of the Civil War II arc, A-Force joined forces with the Avengers and X-Men to ambush Thanos at the Project P.E.G.A.S.U.S. Facility, where they predicted he would be thanks to the Inhuman Ulysses Cain's power of foresight.

Unfortunately, despite that advantage, the battle goes poorly for many Avengers. James Rhodes, a.k.a. War Machine, is killed in the fight, while Jen suffers fatal injuries. She briefly reawakens to encourage Carol Danvers, Rhodey's lover, to fight on behalf of Ulysses. She's later resurrected several issues later, in the midst of a superhuman civil war.

2 Resurrecting Thor

Volume 8 of The Avengers, which began its run in 2018, has seen She-Hulk at her most powerful. In the fourth issue, She-Hulk teams up with Thor on a journey to Asgard to seek Odin's help in stopping a group of Dark Celestials from destroying Earth. Their journey leads them to the Blood of Ymir, which would empower them to fight Celestials.

Unfortunately, Thor almost dies due to the immense cold of the chamber where the Blood of Ymir is kept. He's saved, however, by She-Hulk, who kisses him to keep him warm. In later issues, Jen later develops feelings for Thor, which he reciprocates, resulting in them becoming an official couple by issue 11 of the series.

1 Jen Survives A Gamma Warhead

Later in volume 8 of The Avengers, She-Hulk is kidnapped by the Winter Guard, the Russian Avengers. The Winter Guard attempted to subject her to radiation and weaken her mind, so they could control it, turning her into the Winter Hulk. Jen is able to resist this mutation thanks to her ease of control over her Hulk form.

However, the Russians get close to executing their plan, sending Jen to Atlantis, where a planted bomb would kill most of its citizens while Jen fought Namor. Through Jen's control over herself, she not only avoids enacting the Russians' plan but also absorbs 68 megatons of the gamma warhead they try to detonate.
