Furthermore, the Green Goblin isn't even the most powerful Goblin in Marvel Comics. There are other Goblin characters who have attacked Spider-Man and other heroes who are even more dangerous than Norman Osborn.

6 Demogoblin Is A Demonic Entity From Another Dimension

Jason Philip Macendale Jr. was one of the many individuals who went by the moniker of Hobgoblin over the years. However, Macendale took things a step further than many of his contemporaries and sought demonic powers from an entity called N'astirh. This gave Jason new power, but the demon that possessed him split apart from Macendale, becoming the Demogoblin.

The Demogoblin is a mystical threat with all the powers and equipment of a Goblin plus increased strength, speed, psionic powers, and even the ability to tap into magic. The Demogoblin eventually fused together with Jason Macendale again, and the two actually died saving a child in a church. More recently, Carnage resurrected the Demogoblin and had it possess the deceased body of Shriek. This created the Demagoblin.

5 The Iron Goblin Is Tony Stark Empowered By The Goblin Formula

Iron Goblin and Spider-Woman Cropped

In one of the alternate dimensions that became part of Doctor Doom's Battleworld, the Spider-Queen's invasion of Manhattan Island was a success. Almost every individual in the city was mutated into a human/spider monstrosity, including Iron Man--who was part of the Spider-Queen's "Brain Trust".

However, a resistance led by Agent Venom, Vision, and Spider-Woman used an aerosolized version of the Goblin Formula to free Tony Stark from the Spider-Queen's influence. The negative side effects of the Goblin Formula began eroding Tony Stark's mental health. He dubbed himself the "Iron Goblin" and mixed a suit of Iron Man armor with Green Goblin's weaponry and Goblin Glider. In the end, the Iron Goblin sacrificed himself to save the resistance from one of the Spider-Queen's attacks.

4 The Ultimate Hobgoblin Is More Than Just A Guy In A Suit

The Hobgoblin of the Ultimate Marvel Universe is actually Harry Osborn, Norman Osborn's son. Like the Green Goblin of this world, the Ultimate Hobgoblin has been injected with the OZ Formula. This turned Harry into a hulking pale-yellow beast that tormented the Spider-Man of the Ultimate Universe.

The Hobgoblin is immensely strong, fast, and can throw fireballs. He is nigh-indestructible and, as shown by the later resurrections of Peter Parker and Norman Osborn, may be functionally immortal as a side effect of the OZ Formula.

3 The Queen Goblin Can Force One To Lose Themselves In Their Past Trauma

The Queen Goblin is a very new Spider-Man villain. She is a clone of a doctor who works at the Ravencroft Institute named Dr. Ashley Kafka. The original Ashley Kafka was killed by a Ravencroft inmate called Massacre, but she was cloned by the Jackal. This one eventually decayed, as many of the Jackal's clones tend to do. However, a second clone was discovered and awoken by Norman Osborn.

This new Ashley Kafka worked for the Beyond Corporation and was bonded to the "sins" of Norman Osborn (this involved a villain called Sin-Eater and is a broadly confusing metaphysical concept). This turned Kafka into the Queen Goblin, a being with all the powers of the Green Goblin plus a "Goblin Gaze." This power causes individuals to experience past major trauma on repeat and follow any command the Queen Goblin gives. She also is equipped with a flaming pumpkin flail that can deal some real damage.

2 The Ultimate Green Goblin Is A Hulking Monster

The Ultimate Green Goblin is the Norman Osborn of the Ultimate Marvel Universe. He is the creator of the OZ Formula, which gave himself and Peter Parker their respective powers in the Ultimate Universe. Like his son, Harry Osborn, the OZ Formula turned Norman Osborn into a giant monster capable of throwing fireballs and possessing incredible strength, speed, and healing capabilities.

The Ultimate Green Goblin is actually the one who killed the Spider-Man of his reality, paving the way for Miles Morale to become the new Spider-Man. Norman died during this fight with Peter Parker, but both later resurfaced. Apparently, the OZ Formula that is inside both Norman and Peter makes them possibly immortal. This Green Goblin would later follow Miles Morales to Earth-616 (the mainstream Marvel Universe) and began helping an alternate version of Miles Morales attack the Miles we know and love.

1 The Red Goblin Is The Most Powerful Goblin Yet

The Red Goblin is Norman Osborn. After years of failing to kill Spider-Man, he decided to take a new tactic. He acquired the Carnage symbiote previously worn by Cletus Kasady and experimented upon the creature. He eventually made it capable of safely bonding to himself and adapting to the Goblin Formula in Norman's bloodstream.

With the Carnage symbiote bonded to him, Norman Osborn became the Red Goblin. He used the symbiote to convert his grandson, Normie Osborn, into the Goblin Childe. Together they attacked Spider-Man and those he loved. It took Peter re-bonding with the Venom symbiote to finally put a stop to Norman's rampage. Even then, he had to coax Norman into giving up the Carnage symbiote for one final Spider-Man vs Green Goblin showdown.
