Daredevil has been one of Marvel's most popular characters ever since his gritty reboot by Frank Millar in the 1980s. Since then, the blind acrobat has been the star of a movie and a TV show but has appeared in very few video games. This is quite a shock given that the super-powered lawyer would be perfect in an open-world brawler.

Despite not featuring in many solo games, Daredevil has still managed to make an appearance in some of Marvel's other video game franchises. He is a big part of the shared comics universe and is the perfect character to highlight the fun that could be had with him and the rest of Marvel's street-level heroes.

The only solo Daredevil game to this point is the Game Boy Advance release that was tied into the film of the same name. Starring Ben Affleck as the lead, many fans wanted more from the character's first solo movie, and the film has largely been forgotten as time has moved on.

This antagonist believes Daredevil is in league with the Kingpin and so sends the Hand after the hero.

While Daredevil gets some points for being a rare solo outing for Marvel's beloved lawyer, the game itself is unfortunately well below average due to its clunky combat and poor visuals. The GBA has plenty of underwhelming license games that are just by-the-numbers side-scrolling beat 'em ups, and Daredevil fits comfortably in this bracket.

Marvel Strike Force is a single-player mobile game for IOS and Android. Players must face off against famous heroes and villains from Marvel in an attempt to unlock more useable characters. Since this is a mobile game, the plot is fairly thin, but it is free to play and gamers can level up certain characters and unlock new moves.

To unlock Daredevil in the game, players must achieve three stars or collect up to 100 shards. The character plays as many fans would expect, utilizing street-level combat and martial arts and occasionally throwing his baton. At the highest level, this baton throw can do an additional 200% damage to enemies.

The Marvel Contest of Champions mobile game takes place in the Marvel universe and is tied into the comic book series of the same name. The game focuses on the aftermath of the Secret Wars event, as The Grandmaster and The Collector gather all Marvel heroes and villains to see who is the best champion. The game is a 1v1 fighter that allows players to pick or unlock plenty of familiar Marvel characters.

Daredevil is a Skill-based champion in the game, which means he will fight with his agile ninja abilities. He is a tough melee fighter as expected, but his signature ability in Contest of Champions includes his iconic radar sense.

Lego Marvel Superheroes

The LEGO games are famous for allowing gamers to play as a huge roster of characters from all kinds of different franchises. As such, players do get the opportunity to play as Daredevil in Lego's take on Marvel. In the first LEGO Marvel Superheroes game, Daredevil can be found hanging around one of the city's piers. If the player completes his short mission, they will unlock Daredevil as a playable character.

The Marvel Ultimate Alliance games have always allowed players to pick a team of four heroes to help defend the Marvel universe. Sadly, Daredevil was only available in the first game as an unlockable extra after the player collected five hidden dolls throughout the levels. He did get a bigger role in the second game, though, as players could play as Daredevil from the very start of the game.

The character's biggest role in the series so far; however, has been in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, where players get to unlock the character in the second level, which is based on The Defenders street team. He plays as a close-up brawler with special moves that allow him to swing his baton or jump-kick enemies.

Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects

Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects was an attempt to create a PS2 fighting game with a twist. The game featured 3D levels with objects the player could interact with and was based on a tie-in comic that introduced the Imperfects to the Marvel roster. These characters have yet to make another appearance, but many fans will enjoy playing as some of the more familiar Marvel characters.

Since this is a fighting game that takes place in a darker version of the Marvel universe, it only makes sense that Daredevil appears as a playable character. He is nimble and acrobatic like Electra and Spider-Man, but cannot lift heavier objects like some characters such as The Thing or Magneto.
