Many horror fans will be keen to check out the movie adaptation of the hit series Five Nights at Freddy's, and a recent video from YouTube star Markiplier suggests the content creator could know something about the project. Of the highest-earning YouTube personalities on the web, Mark "Markiplier" Fischbach is one of the biggest, with a current subscriber count of over 34 million. As such, when the famous gamer says something, fans tend to pay attention.

Many popular YouTubers are known for their reactions to horror games, and Fischbach has made a name for himself over the years with his video playthroughs of Amnesia, Outlast, and Scott Cawthon's FNAF franchise. Beginning life as a simple horror game about a security guard in a pizza restaurant, the first Five Nights at Freddy's became an instant success, partly due to its simple yet effective mechanics, but also because of online stars giving exposure to the indie game on their channels.

In a recent stream, Markiplier spoke about a number of subjects, first and foremost being the movie he's been working on. While he hasn't mentioned a lot about it, fans have asked whether it's in relation to the Five Nights at Freddy's adaptation. The YouTuber says at around the 9:40 mark that his own project is in no way related to the survival horror series. However, later on in the video, at around the 30-minute mark, he insists, while looking straight into the camera, that he doesn't know anything about the movie.

While maintaining this stare, Markiplier goes on to tell people not to ask him anything about the FNAF movie, adding, "My god. The things I could definitely not tell you" about the adaptation. This has led some to believe that he may, in fact, know something. However, there's no way to tell for sure, but Markiplier's cheeky message to the camera could possibly hint at some knowledge.

For those who don't know, Five Nights at Freddy's is getting a movie, which comes from Blumhouse Productions, the horror studio known for Paranormal Activity, as well as being linked to such high-profile directors as James Wan and M. Night Shyamalan. The film is scheduled to release on October 27, 2023, and is being written in collaboration with the game's creator.

While the hype has died down now, Five Nights at Freddy's was one of the biggest indie horror games of its time, with several entries in the series, as well as some spinoffs and FNAF clones. Whether the movie will be able to successfully translate Cawthon's world to the big screen remains to be seen at this stage.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie will release on October 27, 2023.
