A small new update for Mario Strikers: Battle League has arrived, which fixes a minor issue with the Rainbow ? Blocks in online matches. The popular soccer spinoff, released in 2022, has seen regular updates to ensure a smooth experience.

Within Mario Strikers: Battle League, there are a few different ways for players to pick up items through the well-known ? blocks that are seen in other Mario titles such as Mario Kart. One of these blocks is the Rainbow ? block, which offers both teams the opportunity to go for an item to try and even the score. Each item on offer is used by players to give them the edge over their enemies.

Before the update came out on January 24, these Rainbow ? blocks were not appearing in Strikers Club League Matches, limiting players to blocks thrown in or the team-based ? ones that appear for a specific team. This issue has luckily been resolved in the 1.3.1 update, so players can dive in and fight the opposition for their chance at a useful item in Mario Strikers: Battle League to turn the tide.

Luckily, this bug was only a minor issue for Mario Strikers: Battle League players, as items could still be used during all online matches. It isn't clear how widely reported the issue was or when it first started appearing, as some players stated that they hadn't even noticed the issue during online gameplay. There were even a select number of fans that thought the Rainbow ? block not appearing was a permanent change to balance gameplay.

Back in December 2022, the game received the 1.3.0 update, bringing with it a new quick chat function during online gameplay with four preset messages that can be sent. It also added fan-favorites Bowser Jr. and Birdo as playable characters, as well as a new stadium called Urban Rooftop and a new gear set. Gear in Mario Strikers: Battle League can be changed for each playable character, providing a level of customization that allows players to completely alter the play style of their favorite characters.

The Strikers spinoff games have been very popular since their introduction on the GameCube back in 2005, and even though Mario Strikers: Battle League had some mixed reviews due to a lack of content, it still sold very well and is being updated for bug fixes regularly. The addition of Clubs means the game has built a strong following, with community groups and tournaments readily available for both experienced and new players.
