Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle was players' first glimpse into the entertaining combination of the world of Mario and that of the Rabbids. It is a turn-based tactical RPG that makes players think on their feet when it comes to deciding their next move. While the best weapons and skills are clearly a must, choosing the best team for the current situation is the most important task for the player.

There are eight playable characters to choose from in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. Of course, several of them must be unlocked before they are an option for players to choose. However, they each bring something to the table that makes them useful in different situations. Certain characters pair very well together, making the best teams.

Mario, Rabbid Peach, And Yoshi

Yoshi in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

This team works well when the player needs a tank on their team. Yoshi can be upgraded to have over 600 health, making him nearly unstoppable. He offers players long-ranged attacks and can get up close and personal with a ground pound following a team jump. Yoshi makes an excellent alternative for Luigi in the later stages of the game when the enemies become harder, and Luigi's small health bar becomes a serious hazard to the player's ability to win.

With the enemies all focusing on Yoshi, Mario and Rabbid Peach won't have to worry about getting thrashed. Rabbid Peach functions as the team's healer and support character. While her attacks don't do much damage, when her dash is upgraded, it will hit multiple enemies. She'll be able to deal enough damage so that on the next turn, when Mario or Yoshi attacks, they'll likely take out the enemies. Mario will primarily be a frontline fighter as he flanks Yoshi, dealing heavy damage with his attacks. Choosing the right weapons for him will ensure the player gets the most out of his turns. This team is not recommended for escort missions as no one has Itchy Feet, but it will work well for the other mission types.

Mario, Rabbid Peach, And Luigi

As soon as the player can, they should max out Rabbid Peach's healing to make her even more effective in this combination. At its maximum level, it can replenish most of the team's health bar in just one turn. As enemies get tougher, this can be a real lifesaver. Luigi is amazing for ranged combat. His expert shooting will take out all the harder enemies, leaving the weaker ones for Mario and Rabbid Peach, allowing them to stay out of dangerous situations.

He also has two skills that greatly benefit the party: Itchy Feet and Steely Stare. Itchy Feet will speed up the entire party's movements, making this group an excellent choice for escort missions, among others. Steely Stare is a defensive skill that allows him to defend the party. When the player maxes it out, moving enemies can be shot three times in one turn. Mario, as always, is a powerful leader with potent skills. Combining his skills with the best weapons available will ensure that this team is fully prepared to take on any enemies that come their way.

Mario, Rabbid Luigi, And Luigi

Rabbid Luigi in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Rabbid Luigi has the Vamp Dash, which can deal up to 160 damage, but what makes it even better is that it will siphon some of that damage back into him, healing him. Any party members that are close enough will receive some of this healing as well. He also has the Super Barrier ability, which protects him from Super Effects, and Weaken, which reduces the damage caused by nearby enemies.

In this combination, Luigi works best staying up high and dealing damage from afar. Doing his job as a sniper will be the most beneficial to this team. On the other hand, Mario will need to be on the front lines, fully attacking all enemies and taking charge of the situation. With their combination of Hero Sight for Mario and Steely Stare for Luigi, teaming up with Rabbid Luigi will make the trio unstoppable.

Mario, Rabbid Mario, And Yoshi

Mario and Rabbid Mario in Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle

Rabbid Mario is a great frontline fighter, just like Mario. The two will make an awesome pair on this team. His movement-based attacks let him take out multiple enemies at once, and he also has a splash attack that's similar to Luigi's. He can be a close-range fighter or be moved back into a mid-range position. Either will work perfectly fine for him.

Yoshi is a powerhouse when his skills are maxed out to make his health over 600. He will be able to draw the most difficult enemies away from Mario and Rabbid Mario and not even blink when they hit him. Additionally, he has ranged fighting abilities, so he can pick off enemies from a distance as needed. Mario will join the front line with Rabbid Mario, and the two will destroy any enemies that get in their way.

Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle is currently available on the Nintendo Switch.
