A creative Switch owner is going viral for their hilarious alternative use of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. While Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is an augmented reality title intended to transform player's homes into the vibrant and imaginative world of Mario Kart, one player has something a little more mundane - albeit ingenious - task in mind.

First announced in Fall 2020 as part of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. 35th Anniversary Direct, Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is one of the most unique titles offered by Nintendo in its storied history. The game utilizes real-world physical karts of Mario and Luigi with a camera attached to the back of each kart, which live streams to the player's Switch. Players set up a series of gates in a configuration of their choosing, and can select from a variety of courses, cups and other modes that incorporate the surrounding area into their game.

The viral moment from the house cat-unsettling Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit comes from TikTok user prettytragichun_, who has already racked up well over one million views and over 81,000 likes. In the short clip, which only lasts seven seconds, the gamer drives Mario under a cupboard in what appears to be a kitchen. Rather than having to get down on all fours to examine the hard-to-reach space's cleanliness status, they take advantage of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit's camera to survey.

The camera reveals the space to be rather dirty, prompting numerous comments from other users. The video concludes with Mario backing out from under the cupboard and looking back directly at the camera, spawning several jokes like "Mario side eye" and "Mario: 'damn it's this bad huh.'" Others complimented the unexpected use of the game, calling the move "smart." While most Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit players make headlines about the creativity behind special tracks, like one fan's 3D-printed Rainbow Road track, the player above's creativity is much more outside-the-box.

While Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a rather unique title, it'll soon have some direct competition. The developer behind the aforementioned title is now currently working on Hot Wheels: Rift Rally, which utilizes the same tech featured in Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit. The upcoming title will use gateways to effectively track the RC car's movement as it zips around player's homes. Hot Wheels: Rift Rally promises plenty of customization, with over 140 potential vehicle options for players to pick from, although its unclear if it will be small enough to check under cupboards.

Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is available now on Nintendo Switch.
