Nintendo recently announced that after five years, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will be getting new DLC content. Through the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pack there will be 48 remastered tracks added to the game in six waves. The DLC will double the amount of tracks currently in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, leaving the game with over half the total number of tracks ever released in the Mario Kart franchise.

Already Nintendo has revealed what the first wave of the Booster Course Pack will contain, and it seems to include many fan favorites. Players will be able to race through Ninja Hideaway, Sky Garden, Shroom Ridge, Tokyo Blur, Coconut Mall, Choco Mountain, Toad Circuit, and Paris Promenade. Those tracks will surely fill countless hours, but that leaves five more waves that have yet to be revealed. With the extensive history of Mario Kart there are many different tracks that could be included.

Luigi's Circuit (Mario Kart 64)

mario kart 64 luigi raceway

Most of the main Mario characters have a track named after them. Originally called Luigi's Raceway, Luigi's Circuit is a simple track that should be remastered. Last appearing in Mario Kart Wii, the track is a round track with no unique gimmick. The decor is filled with Luigi-themed obstacles including a giant statue of him and many banners that have his name. It's not a very advanced track, but Luigi deserves his time to shine.

DK Mountain (Mario Kart: Double Dash!!)

Mario Kart Double Dash DK Mountain Volcano

Introduced in Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, DK Mountain sends racers up a giant volcano that begins to erupt as they descend. They get launched through a giant cannon that propels them to the top of the volcano, and must traverse a bumpy road down as boulders fall. It is a precarious track where racers have to remain vigilant if they do not want to get squashed. The last time it appeared was in Mario Kart Wii, so now is the perfect time for it to show up again.

DK Summit (Mario Kart Wii)

DK Summit is very similar to DK Mountain, to the extent many believe it is the exact same mountain with a different coat of paint. The big difference is that DK Summit trades the active volcano for a winter wonderland. Racers are once again shot through Donkey Kong's cannon, but this time they must traverse a snowy mountain and dodge snowboarding Shy Guys. The mountain is covered with half-pipes, bumpy ramps, and a boost ramp. It is a very fast-paced and fun track that got added to the mobile game Mario Kart Tour, but it needs to make a comeback in the main series.

Banshee Boardwalk (Mario Kart 64)

4- Mario Kart 64 Banshee Boardwalk

Last seen in Mario Kart DS, Banshee Boardwalk brings racers on a spooky nighttime race across haunting waters. They must race through a spooky mansion filled with bats and be prepared for the occasional Boo. It is very similar in style to other maps like Twisted Mansion and Luigi's Mansion, but instead of spending the majority of the time inside a haunted house it has racers drive along a boardwalk. Throwing more spooky tracks into Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would give it some variety, and Banshee Boardwalk is a perfect candidate.

Maple Treeway (Mario Kart Wii)

Mario Kart Maple Treeway

First introduced in Mario Kart Wii and appearing in two games since, Maple Treeway brings racers to a large orange forest. Racers have to drive on top of large trees and avoid Wigglers as leaf piles dot the track that may contain items like a banana peel or a star. This track also contains a cannon like DK Summit, which will launch racers across the forest. The track itself is not that difficult, but it provides an interesting aesthetic that would be great in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe style.

Delfino Square (Mario Kart DS)

4- Mario Kart DS Delfino Square

Delfino Square was first introduced in Mario Kart DS, bringing racers to Isle Delfino from Super Mario Sunshine. Racers drive through cobblestone streets and across a drawbridge as they try to be the first one to the finish. There are not any gimmicks in this track, just a simple race through a tiny island town, but it is a fun track to jump onto for the aesthetic, and that would look even better if it got added to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

Mushroom Gorge (Mario Kart Wii)

Mario Kart Mushroom Gorge

Mushroom Gorge might be one of the most fun tracks to race in Mario Kart Wii. Racers spend the majority of their time on a standard road, but in the center of the track is a large cavern filled with mushrooms to jump on. It turns the track from a standard race into a trampoline party at risk of falling into the abyss. It is a very fun and unique track that takes the emphasis off of speed in favor of precision. It showed up again in Mario Kart 7 with some additions, but the core gameplay was still intact. As one of the best tracks in Mario Kart Wii, it is likely to make the cut for the Booster Course Pack alongside Coconut Mall.

There are many other unique tracks throughout the Mario Kart franchise. The Booster Course Pack is set to add 48 retro courses to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, so surely many fan favorites will make the cut. People will just have to wait and see what is coming after the first wave launches March 18.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is available now on Nintendo Switch.
