Warner Bros. is once again releasing another Ocean's Eleven movie, and this one has none other than Margot Robbie in place to be the film's star.

Robbie has starred in a collection of blockbuster films like The Suicide Squad, The Wolf Of Wall Street, and I, Tonya. Now she is attached to the Warner Bros. new Ocean's Eleven project as the film's star and also as the producer.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the new Ocean's Eleven film is set to be directed by Jay Roach, who's worked with Robbie in the past on the project Bombshell, which scored her a nomination for the Best Supporting Actress at the 2019 Oscar Awards. The executive producers of the new Ocean's Eleven film are Gary Ross, Olivia Milch, and Josey McNamara. The film's script, written by Carrie Soloman, has been tightly kept under lock and key. However, the film's plot, although not completely set in stone, is set to be a classic Ocean's Eleven tale, which takes place in Europe during the 1960s. The film is still in the early development stages, but it's been said that the studio's goal is to have the film in production by spring 2023.

Ocean's Eleven Crew

This news comes four years after the release of Ocean's Eight, the most recent installment in the Ocean's franchise that dates all the way back to 2001, with its first film directed by Steven Soderbergh. The Ocean's Eleven franchise’s first film starred Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, and many other big names in Hollywood as the film followed Clooney's Mr. Danny Ocean as he put together a band of thieves to orchestrate one of the most elaborate casino heists in history. After this came Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, which still featured the original cast and Soderbergh as the film's director.

The most recent film of the franchise, as previously mentioned, was Ocean's Eight, which put a spin on the original plot. Ocean's Eight had a female-led band pulling off the heist at the New York City’s Met Gala and starred actresses like Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Rihanna, and Dakota Fanning. The film grossed approximately $297 million worldwide at the box office.

With the last film’s twist being well received, it's fair that Robbie's prequel iteration will be just as beloved by fans. The actress has her plate full of projects like Amsterdam (2022), Babylon (2022), Asteroid City (TBD), Greta Gerwig's Barbie (2023), and now Ocean's Eleven (TBD). Although details are sparse as confirmation about the film's production is still being awaited, it is fair to say that the new Ocean's Eleven starring Robbie if done right has a great chance of being a major success.

The new Ocean's Eleven film is in development at Warner Bros.
