Margot Robbie was reportedly offered the role of Sue Storm in Marvel Studios' Fantastic Four reboot. The rumor may surprise fans because Robbie already plays Harley Quinn in Warner Bros.' DC movies.

After Disney gained the screen rights to The Fantastic Four by acquiring 20th Century Fox, fans immediately wondered who will play the team members in Marvel Studios' reboot. Recently, Vanessa Kirby was rumored to be Marvel Studios' top choice to play Sue Storm, a.k.a. Invisible Woman, with Jodie Comer, Allison Williams, and Mila Kunis as other alleged contenders.

However, Daniel Richtman now reports that Robbie has been offered the role of Sue Storm. Richtman has proven themself a reliable scooper in the past, but even if their report on Robbie is accurate, it does not mean Robbie will accept the offer, and she could pass on the role. Another reliable scooper, MyTimeToShineH, corroborated Richtman's report, but Marvel Studios and Disney have not made any official casting announcements yet. Consequently, fans should take the news of Robbie being offered a role in Fanstastic Four with a grain of salt.

This report arrives roughly two weeks after Richtman reported Adam Driver is close to signing on as Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four reboot. Marvel Studios is reportedly focused on casting Sue Storm and Reed Richards before choosing actors for Ben Grimm, a.k.a. The Thing, and Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch. Still, rumors claim Academy Award nominee Paul Mescal is eyed for Johnny Storm, Mila Kunis is in talks to play The Thing, and Antonio Banderas was offered the role of the villainous Galactus. Of course, these rumors remain unverified by Marvel Studios or anyone officially connected to the Fantastic Four reboot.

If Robbie was offered and accepted the role of Sue Storm, fans might wonder what this means for her version of Harley Quinn. While there's no official reason why Robbie couldn't be part of the MCU and the DC Universe, it's hard to imagine Warner Bros. being comfortable with her working for a rival studio. After all, when James Gunn was named the head of DC Studios, it seemingly meant he must work exclusively for DC and leave the MCU.

If Robbie joins the Fantastic Four cast, fans can rest easy knowing Sue Storm will be played expertly. Robbie is an Academy Award-nominated actor who has proven herself several times, so having her in the MCU and DCU can only be positive for fans.

Fantastic Four is currently scheduled to be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
