How to Manage Workers

There are no individual workers in Manor Lords. A group of three people make up a family and work in the building assigned to them. As such, if one worker of the family is assigned somewhere, all members of the family will join him.

You can check what a family is doing by clicking on the workplace and viewing the ‘People’ tab.

How to Assign tasks to Families

The initial five families in Manor Lords are working families. Once you build Burgage Plots, new families will move in. To assign a new family to work, all you need to do is click on the building and select the plus sign. Doing so will add the families to work in the building you’ve selected.

Once all the available families have been assigned to work, a radar will appear indicating there are no families left.

Unassigned Families can come in very handy when expanding your village. Instead of making the active workers drop their duties, you can use the unassigned families to build a new building or whatever it is you may have in mind.

It is recommended to leave three families unassigned if you have a lot of projects in mind. These families are effective and time-efficient. You can change the priority level of an incomplete building. Unassigned families are a great resource when your existing workers are busy.

Tips for Managing Workers

Food Comes First

Assign workers to gather food at the very beginning of the game. You may face food shortages if you fail to do so. Construct essential structures like Forager Huts and Hunting Camps right from the start, and allocate workers to these locations. Doing so ensures there is plenty of food to eat and doesn’t bring chaos to the village.

Having Too Many Burgage Plots Can Be Trouble

While having more workers is a good idea, it does come with quite a few challenges. You are responsible for providing each worker with food and fuel and if you are running low on said resources, trouble awaits you. So it would be best to avoid building too many burgage plots in the early stages of the game.
