Maneater, the action role-playing game (or "ShARkPG") from Tripwire Interactive, is giving players a free shark skin to celebrate the Discovery Channel's annual Shark Week event. Shark skins are a hugely important part of the game, with looks like Maneater's Shadow set giving players a poison strike to fire at enemies.

In a press release, Tripwire confirmed that Maneater platforms on PC, PS4, and Xbox One can now access the Tiger Shark Skin for free. Those who've purchased Maneater on PC through the Epic Games Store can access to the skin by downloading the game's new update, visiting a Grotto, and selecting "Tiger Shark Adaptation" under "Body Evolutions." PS4 and Xbox One players will have to download it from their console's store, though Tripwire has made it easy by linking to those listings in a tweet.

The Tiger Shark Adaptation adds a bit of wow to player's aquatic rampages, giving their shark an orange body with black stripes. However, it also has some gameplay effects. Tripwire calls it "the garbage can of the sea," as it gives players more nutrients when they consume prey. Players of the ShARkPG know how grim it is when Maneater's main character leaves humans alive after biting off their limbs, but the Tiger Shark Adaptation may give them a new reason to finish the meal.

As some Maneater reviews spoke about a technical issue that erased hours of progress, having a skin that provides the shark with more nutrients could be hugely useful and give players who've encountered the bug a new reason to come back. For everyone else, this freebie will let them swim around as a bigger, badder, and better-looking shark.

Maneater is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
