The Mandalorian's Moff Gideon aka Breaking Bad star Giancarlo Esposito has hinted at a several season story arc for everyone's favorite masked wanderer and his adorable baby Yoda co-pilot.

Speaking on People's and Entertainment Weekly's Emmy Red Carpet show online, Esposito said, "I think this show is going to lay the ground work for the depth and breadth that’s gonna come in season 3 and season 4, where you’re really gonna start to get answers.”

The first season of The Mandalorian was nominated for an impressive 15 Emmy awards, taking home 7, which included Outstanding Cinematography, Music Composition and Production Design. Esposito himself was nominated twice for both his role as Gus Fring in Better Call Saul and Moff Gideon. For The Mandalorian season 2, Esposito will have a much bigger role to play as will his signature weapon the darksaber.

There's been no official confirmation of a third season from Disney just yet, however the extremely positive word of mouth, combined its massive success which saw the Star Wars spinoff become the most demanded streaming series in Dec 2019 would make it a no brainer for Disney.

In the meantime, Disney will be throwing the full weight of its marketing department behind the upcoming release of The Mandalorian season 2 with a whole load of merchandise and comic spin-offs. StarWars.com has announced a weekly 'Mando Monday' update from Oct 26th that will keep fans abreast of all Mandalorian-related releases.

The upcoming second season will see the titular Mandalorian Din Djarin explore the origins of the Child in his care with the villainous Moff Gideon in pursuit. The series also promises to reveal more about how Gideon came to wield the Mandalorian-created darksaber and how it ties in with his plans.

The Mandalorian season 1 is currently streaming on Disney+ with season 2 expected on Oct 30th.
