Among the cast of The Dark Pictures:Man of Medan, Fliss is a character players will almost certainly want to keep alive, since she is somewhat more sensible than the rest of the cast. Keeping her alive is no easy feat, naturally, so this guide will help by explaining the scenarios where she can die and how to prevent her potential deaths.

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is the first entry in the Dark Pictures Anthology, developed by Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game features a ghost ship horror story loosely inspired by the urban legend of the SS Ourang Medan, and the cast soon find themselves having to contend with the seemingly haunted ship along with the pirates that initially spark the game's main conflict.

Chapter: Ritual

Man of Medan_Fliss_Ballroom

During this act Fliss can die if players did not make certain specific choices with Brad earlier in the game. If Brad has collected the wrench in an earlier section of the game, but neglected to also collect the gas mask, Fliss will be attacked by a "Demon" during this chapter and get bludgeoned to death with a wrench if the player does not succeed in QTE sequence. This can also be avoided if Fliss goes backstage before the Demon shows up.

Chapter: Pressure

During this act there is an opportunity to send either Fliss or Brad down a hatch. Choosing Fliss won't kill her on its own, but telling Brad to smash the lock rather than the hinge shortly afterwards will result in Fliss becoming trapped and drowning down there.

Chapter: Glamour Girl

Man of medan sean ashmore conrad

During this sequence, when Conrad is being chased and seemingly harassed by the Nurse, choosing to attack the Nurse with the knife will result in Fliss' death. This is because, like many other seemingly supernatural encounters during the game, Conrad is actually hallucinating and the Nurse is actually Fliss. In co-op play the player controlling Fliss can also cause Fliss to die from falling off a ladder during this sequence if a QTE is failed.

Chapter: Matters of the Heart

During this chapter there is a sequence where Alex is seemingly attacked by some strange creature. Players will naturally be inclined to stab the thing and eliminate it as a threat after rats start clawing out of Alex's chest, but doing so will, in fact, result in the death of Fliss. This is because the hallucinogenic gas in the ship is causing Alex to hallucinate, and the creature is actually Fliss. As such players must make sure not to attack the creature while playing as Alex during Chapter 5. (They should probably avoid stabbing Alex himself too)

Chapter: The End

If the player uncovered the Medan hat during Chapter: Danny and found the Ship's Logbook during Chapter: Distress Signal, it is highly likely that everyone could end up dead. If the distress signal was sent during the latter chapter, power was restored to the ship, and the location of the ship given over the radio, This combination of events will end in disaster. When the military arrive they will gun down everyone they see if this information was uncovered, to cover up the truth about "Manchurian Gold."

The Dark Pictures: Man of Medan is available for PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
