Since the demo was removed from the PlayStation Store back in 2019, fans have been looking to fill the hole left by Hideo Kojima's infamous PT, and they've had a lot to scratch that specific itch. SadSquare Studio managed to capture the teaser's surreal scares through the homebound horrors of Visage, while Resident Evil 7: Biohazard's opening section and Beginning Hour demo were clearly influenced by Kojima's cryptic, claustrophobic hallways.

Earlier today, Nosebleed Games released the latest trailer for its upcoming horror game MADiSON, and it definitely seems like another title that fans of PT should keep an eye on. Framed from a first-person perspective, the game sees players navigate a large house while haunted by a demonic entity, with the footage hinting that it'll feature plenty of obscure puzzles and mind-bending scares.

The trailer focuses on the creepy house that MADiSON's protagonist, Luca, is trapped in throughout the game, highlighting its layout and some of the spooky surprises that lie within. It comes complete with plenty of haunting areas to explore, including an ominous, dimly lit basement and a long hallway illuminated by flickering lights. According to the game's Steam page, Luca awakens in this eerie locale during the opening moments of the story, using an instant camera to navigate the house, solve puzzles, and dive deeper into its mysteries. The trailer seems to hint that the game's surreal scares will take the protagonist beyond the walls of the home, with one section showing off a sinister chapel and another an underground area sectioned off by police tape.

However, they won't be exploring the game's harrowing central setting alone. Much like the nightmarish Lisa in PT, the trailer highlights a demonic presence haunting the player throughout the game. The Steam page reveals that this entity is the titular MADiSON, and is forcing Luca to partake in a grisly ritual started decades ago. The game will task players with finishing it, forcing them to commit "abominable acts" in an effort to escape the demon's clutches. However, it'll be an unpredictable threat to face, with Nosebleed Games promising that every playthrough will be different thanks to "randomly activated events and changing puzzles."

A few of these events seem to crop up in the trailer, with husks walking in front of Luca's path, statues appearing in front of him, and, during one particularly frightening segment, monsters stalking him from the darkness. MADiSON is currently slated to launch on Steam later this year, with players able to wishlist the game right now. In the meantime, they can take a look at some more trailers for upcoming horror experiences, including an eerie driving game called Beware and another PT-inspired title known as Luto.

MADiSON is slated to launch later this year on PC.
