While carrying the ball, players should hold LT, RT, and the A button to do a celebration run. PlayStation players can do the same by holding the L2, R2, and X buttons. For different animations, they can try the combinations while running or standing still, or while pulling the right joystick in different directions.

To showboat after a touchdown, players can use the right stick to pick one of the four celebrations that pop up. There’s no need to hold the triggers for that.

Celebrations in Madden 22 were beginner-friendly, as players could perform them simply by holding the left trigger. However, the franchise is intentionally weighing it down to achieve realistic gameplay.

How to Do a Celebration Dive

A celebration dive is a showy touchdown animation in Madden 23. To perform one, hold the X button on Xbox or square on PlayStation within 2-3 yards of the end zone.

Things to Know About Madden 23 Celebrations

Although a fun addition to Madden’s gameplay, celebrations come with their risks. While doing a taunt, the carrier slows down and, in some cases, steers away from the end zone. So, to avoid unwanted fumbles and tackles, players should use showboats sparingly.

Also, it's worth noting that doing a celebration run has no limits. The passing quarterback, receiver, or any other player carrying the ball can taunt regardless of their distance to the end zone.

Here’s are a few other thing to remember about showboating in Madden 23:

  • To do a celebration run on Xbox, players should hold LT, RT, and A.
  • On PlayStation, players can celebrate by holding L2, R2, and X.
  • For a celebration dive, hold the X button (Square on PlayStation) just before the touchdown.
  • Doing a showboat while running, standing, or holding different directions on the right stick changes the animation.
  • Celebration puts players at risk of fumbling and getting tackled.

Madden NFL 23 is available now for Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
