A new update rolled out for Madden NFL 23 brings with it a wide suite of changes, fixing a variety of issues across multiple parts of the game. While the newest entry of EA Sports' annual football franchise has seen early sales success, the game has been met with significant criticism from longtime fans. Fans and critics have railed against the game for its numerous bugs, with the Kansas City Chiefs' Mecole Hardman Jr. calling it the "worst Madden ever." Now, EA is looking to ease some fans' woes with its newest update.The latest edition of Madden NFL 23's "Gridiron Notes" details a laundry list of changes coming in the game's third title update. Alongside the launch of Madden NFL 23's Season 2 titled "Prime Time," EA Sports is introducing several fixes looking to resolve many bugs within the football game. The post lists several gameplay changes to mechanics like blocking, catching, tackling and more. Some of the biggest changes look to resolve issues leading to disconnects, causing players to lose progress, as well as fixing issues with CPU negotiations and signings of free agent players. Franchise Mode has been a particular focus from angry players with Madden NFL 23's last title update breaking several features of Franchise Mode, making the game mode "unplayable" for many.

The update will feature several smaller fixes for other parts of Madden NFL 23 alongside the general gameplay and Franchise Mode changes. The single-player Face of the Franchise mode will receive a smaller batch of adjustments to resolve issues, as well as improvements to the Side Activities UI. Multiple players like Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore and 49ers running back Elijah Mitchell will also be receiving authenticity updates, alongside some stadiums like the Steelers Stadium rebranding.

While Madden NFL 23 has been the subject of significant criticism, EA has made consistent efforts to improve the game since its launch. Previous major title updates have looked to make changes to Madden NFL 23's blocking engine, as well as addressing a variety of bugs within the game. The newest Madden has also seen massive success over the past two months, standing as the best-selling game in its release month of August. EA Sports will look to continue to improve Madden NFL 23 throughout the coming months, hoping to alleviate fan concerns.
