This upcoming Sunday, on February 13, the National Football League will host Super Bowl LVI. The match will be played between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams at SoFi Stadium in LA. Alongside the Super Bowl is an annual tradition in video games, as well. Electronic Arts runs an annual simulation in its most recent Madden release predicting the outcome of the match. This year's no different. EA has now shared the results of its Madden NFL 22 Super Bowl LVI prediction match. This year's Super Bowl prediction is a bit different from years previous. In an odd decision, EA didn't frame the prediction as a straightforward simulation match run in Madden NFL 22. Instead, it framed it as a prediction from the Great Marshawn, a promotional crossover with retired running back Marshawn Lynch. While the video does feature some Madden NFL 22 gameplay, it's possible that a simulation wasn't actually run this year and that the prediction was done in some other way.RELATED: NFL Legend John Madden Has Passed AwayRegardless, the prediction is in. The Great Marshawn says that this year's Super Bowl result is the Cincinnati Bengals defeating the Los Angeles Rams by a score of 24 to 21. During the match, Bengals quarterback Jack Burrow is predicted to throw over 300 yards, with a Bengals pick-six proving to be one of the deciding factors of the game.

It should be obvious, but the Madden prediction is not a reliable simulation. Betting football fans would likely have equal or better odds of a correct pick by flipping a coin. The Madden prediction has been wrong three out of the past five years, or half of the past 10 years. To its credit, the Madden prediction did pick Super Bowl 49's New England Patriots victory with exact precision.

This year's Madden NFL 22 prediction is no different. It's all for fun and not something to take too seriously. Perhaps that's why EA decided to frame this year's Super Bowl prediction as a tarot card reading from Marshawn Lynch instead of touting the quality of Madden NFL 22's simulation.

Madden NFL 22's prediction that the Cincinnati Bengals will defeat the LA Rams by a score of 24 to 21 will be put to the test this Sunday, on February 13. The big game will kick off at 3:30 PM ET/6:30 PM ET and typically lasts around three and a half hours. It should be fun, but otherwise it's a good chance to get in a few games of Madden.

Madden NFL 22 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
