Highlights

  • Pokemon GO players now have the chance to catch Galarian Moltres and Articuno with the Daily Incense Adventure, expanding their Pokedex options.
  • Galarian forms of Legendary Birds in Pokemon GO are extremely rare and difficult to catch, with a base flee rate of 90% after the first ball.
  • While some trainers have been lucky enough to catch Galarian Legendary Birds, others continue the search and look forward to the debut of more variants in the game.

A lucky Pokemon GO player has caught Galarian Moltres and Articuno with the Daily Incense Adventure. Pokemon GO keeps expanding its Pokedex records. Not all Pokemon and its variants are available in Pokemon GO, but trainers already have an impressive number of critters to find.

This year, one of the highlights of Pokemon GO is the debut of Scarlet and Violet Pokemon. Niantic has added the Paldea starters along with other fan favorites like Lechonk, Fidough, and Klawf. A recent announcement revealed that Tadbulb and Bellibolt are coming to Pokemon GO, bringing the number of Paldea Pokemon available to 27. Pokemon GO players generally encounter Pokemon in the wild, with some appearing more frequently than others. There are also Legendary Pokemon, usually locked to Raid Battles, and Mythical Pokemon that players find in Special Research stories. Certain pocket monsters are very difficult to get, but one Pokemon GO player went against all odds and caught two very rare Pokemon.

Lucky Pokemon GO Player Catches Two Legendary Pokemon

Reddit user AllBadForYou had the great fortune to capture Galarian Moltres and Articuno with the Daily Incense Adventure. In the post, the player shows a screenshot of the result of their October 29 adventure, where after walking 279 meters they caught Galarian Moltres and Articuno, along with a Ralts. The player revealed that although the Galarian forms of the Legendary Birds don't have three stars, their CP is 640 (Articuno) and 2593 (Moltres). The latter is particularly impressive, as the maximum CP that Galarian Moltres can have is 3580. Pokemon GO players can find Legendary Birds in both Kantonian and Galarian forms. The best way for players to find Galarian variants of Legendary Birds is with Pokemon GO's Daily Incense Adventure.

The other Redditors congratulated AllBadForYou on the extremely lucky catch and shared their less fortunate stories. Most said they had never even seen the Galarian Legendary Birds, but one player who did see one was unable to capture it even using an Ultra Ball. Another comment said he had seen a Galarian Moltres recently but was unsuccessful after spending five Ultra Balls. Galarian Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno are among the rarest Pokemon in Pokemon GO due to their difficulty in being seen and caught. The legendary trio has a base flee rate of 90% after the first ball, so while Pokemon GO trainers can get a second throw, the chances are far from the highest.

Although it's incredibly rare, other trainers have shown that it's not truly impossible to find Galarian Legendary Birds in Pokemon GO. For trainers who haven't had the same luck, the search continues. Meanwhile, players also wait for many variants to debut in Pokemon GO, such as Galarian Corsola, Hisuian Decidueye, and all the Paldean Pokemon.
