The developer of the popular Korean MMO Lost Ark reveals more information about the game’s upcoming crossover with The Witcher. The crossover event launches tomorrow and includes a variety of new The Witcher-related content.

The free-to-play MMO Lost Ark launched in Korea in 2019 before hitting international markets in early 2022. It ended up becoming the breakout hit MMO of that year, though some criticized the western release for its excessive number of bot accounts. Lost Ark enjoys a respectable score of 81 on Metacritic and sees an average of over 1.5 million players a day, according to MMO Populations.

Lost Ark announced its The Witcher crossover with a trailer on January 10. Players will travel to a beautiful island whose festival is interrupted by the sudden appearance of a magical vortex. They will team up with The Witcher characters like Geralt, Ciri, Dandelion, Yennefer, and Triss as they complete quests and unravel the island’s mysteries. The event includes a variety of new Daily and Story Quests, with rewards including new Witcher-inspired Potions, two new Jukebox songs, a new Card Set featuring five Witcher characters, a Stronghold structure, Emoticons, Selfie Stickers, and a Title. Players can also grab new Geralt and Ciri skins from Lost Ark’s in-game store.

The event goes live on January 18 after a few hours of downtime, which is scheduled to begin at 12 AM Pacific/3 AM Eastern. Developers expect the downtime to last about four hours, after which Lost Ark’s The Witcher crossover runs until February 22. That gives Lost Ark players plenty of time to explore all the new limited-time The Witcher content. They can start their adventure with Geralt and friends by speaking with the Guild Investigator in a major city. Note that new Lost Ark players need to have completed the Main Story Quest “Set Sail,” as it is required before players can travel between Islands.

The Witcher crossover event launches alongside a new update introducing a range of quality-of-life improvements. These include substantial updates to Lost Ark’s Guild system. Players can deposit money in their Guild and receive weekly income based on their contributions. The game also adds three new Guild Research Options and three new Guild Skills. Other additions to Lost Ark’s Guilds include improvements to the Mercenary System and Raid Matches, changes to PVP rankings, and two new PVP Island Sieges.

Lost Ark is also getting a long list of other changes and updates, including alterations to the Quest System and more. Players can find the full patch notes and details on the new content by visiting the game’s website.

Lost Ark is available on PC.
