Lost Ark has shaken up the MMO world with a fantastic launch reaching over 900,000 players on Steam. The multifaceted game has drawn fans of multiple genres with its flashy combat and spectacular campaign. Amazon Games and Smilegate have broken records with Lost Ark’s success which signals a long life span for the game.
Lost Ark is filled with content for players to enjoy in the forms of both PVE and PVP content, the crown jewel being the MMOs endgame which consists of several types of raid-like activities. There are several challenging activities for players to participate in once level 50 is reached; however, the do’s and dont’s may be a little tricky. Here are some things about Lost Ark’s endgame that players should know.
5 Chaos Dungeons
Chaos dungeons are an activity in Lost Arkunlocked after players reach level 50 and access to Vern Castle. Players will enter a “horde mode” type of event that will place them up against waves of enemies to slay against a declining time limit for prestige rewards.
Chaos dungeons are one of the few ways players can increase their gear scores to climb Lost Ark’s tiers in order to unlock more challenging content. Chaos dungeons usually involve three stages and require players to sometimes defeat several bosses in the same stage.
4 Guardian Raids
Guardian Raids are reminiscent of Monster Hunter World's legendary Hunts; players venture out onto a map and must find and slay the boss monster that resides on the map. This activity unlocks after level 50 and completion of the “Guardian Raid qualification” quest. Guardian Raids can be done solo or with a team of four.; there are several beasts in ascending tiers for players to hunt that will continuously increase their gear score.
It should be noted that these activities can only be attempted twice daily, just like Chaos dungeons. Players should also be aware that Guardian's Raids limit the use of health potions, resurrections and have a time limit that grows more challenging in higher tiers, which makes slaying the Guardian more difficult when its health bar is hidden from players.
3 Engravings
Engravings are a focal point in how players build their characters in Lost Ark. Most classes and how they play depends on the engravings players unlock for them. There are multiple ways to unlock and level up Engravings, one being the use of skill books that an Engraving requires in a certain amount before it can be unlocked, and the next being the use of the player's ability stone. The ability stones roll with a random bonus to a random engraving and can be upgraded to push that bonus even higher, but this process is highly RNG-based. Engravings can be the difference between players unlocking their class's full potential or falling flat and becoming incapable of completing more challenging content.
2 Skill Points
Skill points are another commodity that increases the strength of the player's classes. While leveling, players will get a fair amount of skill points without trying. It's only until later on during the endgame that skill points become more scarce. Bumps in skills make a considerable difference as a percentage bonus to damage is heavily desired when competing in Guardian Raids or Abyss Dungeons.
While skill points will still be rewarded as players level up, there is one other way to gain skill points in the game via Skill point potions. Skill point potions are available as rewards from Quest scattered across Lost Ark’s world.
1 Ability Stones
Ability Stones are a piece of gear that is incredibly valuable to player builds, especially toward the game's endgame content. Ability Stones provide a solid boost to player stats along with providing levels into engravings. To obtain the ability to equip Ability Stones, players must complete a mission to learn how to Facet Ability Stones; this Quest is located in Luterra Castle via the Stonecutter NPC.
Ability Stones do not always roll with the desired set of engraving bonuses, so players will have to complete Chaos Dungeons to farm them and hope for the best. Ability Stones can also be upgraded to provide more substantial bonuses, but this process is RNG-based, which involves strategically cutting a stone to raise its level. The risk in upgrading an Ability Stone is upgrading adverse effects, which will hinder the player's character.
