MMO fans enjoy grinding through endless dungeons to obtain rare material to make their character stronger (or create distinctive outfits). But, Lost Ark goes beyond the run-of-the-mill endless grinding mechanics by introducing dozens of unique (and challenging) Raid Bosses like the Achates Trial Guardian Raid.

But, one of the most challenging gameplay features in Lost Ark is not a Raid Boss but rather a Chess Puzzle. This puzzle is located within the Phantom Palace and is necessary to complete if players want to progress their Mokoko Seed collection, so skipping it is not a viable option. But, the longer a player spends on the Chess Puzzle the more damage they take, meaning completing it as fast of possible is a must.

Phantom Palace Chess Puzzle - Phase One

Lost Ark Phase One Puzzle Solution

To complete the first phase, players must symmetrically match the board. Players can accomplish this by moving the White Rook to the H3 Square (following Chess Notation) or two squares in front of the Black Pawn. Once players place the White Rook onto the correct square they'll move on to the second phase of the Phantom Palace Chess Puzzle.

Phantom Palace Chess Puzzle - Phase Two

Lost Ark Phase Two Puzzle Solution

The second phase of the Phantom Palace Puzzle will ask players to align the board symmetrically again. To complete this phase players must place the White Knight at the C3 Square (Chess Notation) or directly diagonal to the White Pawn in the middle of the Chess Board. At this stage, it would be best if players use an HP Consumable to avoid an unfortunate death. Similar to the previous phase, players must go through a portal to reach the final Phantom Palace Puzzle stage.

Phantom Palace Chess Puzzle - Phase Three

Some players have experienced Randomized Phase 3 Puzzles, meaning this solution may not work. So, players can either try to complete it themselves or leave the Phantom Palace Puzzle and hope to get the one featured in this guide.

The final phase requires players to place two Chess pieces, so players will need to be quick in placing them. Players should move the White Queen to the H6 Square or one square after the White Pawn (next to the White Rook). After placing the White Queen, players should move the Black Pawn to the E5 Square, diagonal to the White Pawn in the middle.

Once completed, players may leave the Phantom Palace Chess area and continue their search for Mokoko Seeds.
