Silver is used just about everywhere in Lost Ark, and while players may find themselves swimming in Silver after leveling from 1 to 50, that hoard of metal will quickly dwindle the farther they get in their Item Level with things like Ability Stone Faceting and unlucky Honing attempts. In Tier 3 especially, Silver is almost as precious of a resource as Gold, and it's surprisingly difficult to farm, which is something people should know upfront.

There aren't a ton of routes to reliably gather large amounts of Silver at once in Lost Ark, and the things that do reward it are either only doable once a day or are a one-time reward. But, that doesn't mean it's hopeless. So, let's go over some of the best ways to grind this precious resource and what methods aren't worth investing time in.

Una's Tasks & Side Quests

Lost Ark - Highlighting One Of The Lopang Island Daily Tasks

First up are the Silver rewards from specific Una's Tasks or a wide array of Side Quests. Una's Tasks, in particular, are easy to find out which ones give the most. All players have to do is go into the Una's Tasks Menu, then Reputation Status, then start clicking the magnifying glasses on the right-hand side to see what the rewards are for each Reputation Level of different missions.

But, no matter how hard they look, they won't find a more reliable source of Silver than the Lopang Island Tasks. These are all marked by "Special Delivery:" in their Quest name, with a different Quest available for each of the main regions. Setting up a character or a variety of characters Bifrost at Lopang Island and then all three of the best reward locations (AKA Arthetine, Vern, and Shushire), is absolutely worth the Bifrost Slots and the time investment. With this route set up, players can log in and make anywhere from 50k to 100k per day on just a single character depending on that character's Item Level.

Chaos Dungeons

Lost Ark - Standing In Front Of The Chaos Dungeon Statue

Next up are Chaos Dungeons, more specifically, the Chaos Dungeons runs that use up the player's Aura of Resonance are the ones that actually give a large amount of silver (AKA the two runs per day). It's hard to notice how much Silver is getting grabbed up with all the other items getting dropped like Accessories, Armor Pieces, and even Special Tickets (which are needed for endgame EXP especially), but each run usually gives about 100k on a Tier 3 character.

To be fair, it's not like players aren't running their Chaos Dungeons as part of their daily checklist anyway, but it's nice to know that these runs are actually filling the wallet as well as filling up the Materials chest. And, once players start really getting into the whole Card Awakening system of Lost Ark, this Silver drain is only going to become more dependent on sources like these.

Chaos Dungeon Secret Rooms

Lost Ark - Highlighting A Loading Screen Tip About Secret Chaos Dungeon Rooms

Speaking of Chaos Dungeons, the standard rooms aren't the only way to earn Silver (and Gold) in these mob-clearing arenas. These golden portals that pop up from time to time in place of the standard portal are also a fantastic way to earn a bit of bonus Silver on top of the already noticeable amount the rest of the Chaos Dungeon gives. Sadly, just like the regular rooms, this pile of Silver is dependent on Aura of Resonance as well, but can still give Gold and extra materials when encountered on a no-Resonance run.

Side Quests & Adventure Islands On Alternate Character

Lost Ark - About To Talk To An NPC With A Quest

And then there are Side Quests. Now, there are a lot of Side Quests in Lost Ark that are worth skipping, but there are even more than aren't worth skipping. And, the reason so many players have between 3 and 5 million Silver by the time they're level 50 is because a lot of these Side Quests give 50k+ when completed. Sadly, because they're Side Quests, they aren't repeatable on the same character, but what about an alt character?

Too many people are missing out on the fact that Lost Ark also let people re-complete non-Roster Side Quests within the different Continents and on all the different Adventure Islands on alt characters. Unless a Powerpass is used, all the Side Quests are left alone when the player uses Knowledge Transfer to get an alt to level 50, so they're perfect for picking up whenever the Silver storage starts to run out or even if they need more Pirate Coins.

Lucky Stages In The Dimensional Cube

Lost Ark - Getting The Treasure Room In The Dimensional Cube

This next one all depends on a party's luck, as finding these Treasure Rooms in a Dimensional Cube run is way less likely than encountering two or three "Survive" rooms in a row seems to be. In any case, players can stumble upon these rooms in Cube runs and what exactly they reward can vary.

Some just have a single chest that a player opens and others have a variety of spectral Tooki or Treasure Chests that must be beaten down to give up their loot. In either case, a vast haul of Silver is likely to pop out. While this isn't exactly an easy way to "farm" Silver, it is good to know about in case a player has a few Cube tickets piling up and is in need of some cash.

Turning Gold Into Silver At The Gold Shop Merchant

Lost Ark - Turning Gold Into Silver In-Game At Gold Shop

This last method is, by far, the least recommended out of all of them, yet somehow seems to be the method that so many streamers and pay-to-win players are using to bump up their Silver fortune. Basically, at the Gold Shop, AKA the same merchant players turn their Una Tokens into varying amounts of Gold, is a Gold Exchange and a separate "Exchange" tab.

Underneath this Exchange tab are two options, trading 100 Gold for 10,000 Silver, or trading 1,000 Gold for 100,000 Silver. Either option is a major waste of Gold and not very beginner-friendly, especially since Gold inflation hasn't hit NA servers like it has for KR and RU servers. Still, it is an option to quickly make a lot of Silver, so it has to be mentioned.

Sources That Just Aren't Worth It

Lost Ark - Highlighting The Description Of What Silver Is In-Game

Finally, here is an extra little entry just to mention other sources of Silver revenue that some players might mention that are absolutely not worth the time investment

  • Selling Useful Equipment Pieces & Broken Equipment Powder: These are the two materials obtained from Dismantling non Tier 1, 2, or 3 gear (for the most part). Players who dismantled a lot of their junk Gear leveling from 1-50 might have a large pile of both of these. And, while players can sell it for anywhere from a couple hundred to a couple of thousand Silver, it is in no way worth actively committing time to in the hopes of making any real amount of Silver.
  • Farming Overworld Mobs: Some players have talked about killing two birds with one stone and farming random mobs in different Regions to both farm Collectibles for the Adventure Tome and also farm items to sell for Silver at General Merchants. This is a bad idea. While it's not wrong to farm Collectibles this way and just sell whatever extra things players obtain, it's not worth doing exclusively for the Silver income.
  • Sylmael Bloodstone Exchange: Only worth doing after the entirety of the shop is bought out, and even then it still isn't all too worth it as the Silver reward is about 2,500 per Chest bought.

Lost Ark was released on December 4, 2019, and is available for PC.
