In Lost Ark, Caspiel is the solitary Field Boss of the Tortoyk Region where the Mokoko People live. It's a gigantic Stone Guardian who has awoken in response to the onslaught of pirates attacking the island in the Main Story Quest.

Awakened in a rage, Caspiel attacks anything in sight, including any of Lost Ark's players who happen to wander by. Now players are going to need to hunt down Caspiel for a variety of different progression rewards. In order to do so, though, they'll have to find him first.

Caspiel's Location

Lost Ark - Caspiel Spawn Location In-Game and On Minimap

Caspiel spawns in the Skyreach Steppe map on Tortoyk, but doesn't have an icon on the Expanded and Mini-Maps unlike other Field Bosses (such as Chaotic Chuo in Anikka). This is because Caspiel is one of the minority of Field Bosses that have half-hour respawns. Once they're killed by a party of players, these bosses won't respawn in that specific Channel until about 30 minutes later. Players can confirm this by seeing that Field Bosses like Caspiel or others such as Rovlen don't have spaces on Procylons Compass for the Field Boss tab. It is unknown whether more of this type of Field Bosses will be added in the South Vern region coming in the April update.

That said, when Caspiel does spawn, it spawns right out of a patch of dirt in Skyreach Steppe as seen in the image above. Thankfully, there's a spot next to the outcropping of rocks just northwest of this location that players can stand and wait for Caspiel (or set a Bifrost slot) without getting pestered at by nearby mobs either. That said, keep in mind that Caspiel's respawn timer starts after it is killed and not at specific intervals. Thus, players who are just arriving to the Skyreach Steppe have no idea how close it is to respawning, making this a bit of a pain.

Why Bother Fighting Caspiel?

Lost Ark - Caspiel Dropping Rewards After Kill

In case any players were wondering if all this trouble pays off in the end, Caspiel is absolutely worth hunting down for any and all players working on their horizontal progression in Lost Ark.

Not only is Capsiel required for the Field Boss portion of Tortoyk's Adventure Tome, it has a chance to drop the Shattered Dip and Pour Bowl upon being killed. This is an essentual ingredient for the Half and Half, Dip and Pour Legendary food on its Cooking Portion. Lastly, killing Caspiel for the first time also grants players +2 permanent Wisdom in their Virtue Stats, which are a subset of stats that only become more important over time.

Lost Ark is available on PC via Steam.
