Lords of the Fallen is an action role-playing video game developed by Hexworks released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S in October 2023. Building upon its predecessor, the game offers third-person perspective gameplay with a blend of melee combat and magic, akin to Soulslike games. Players can customize their avatars and choose from nine character classes to navigate a vast interconnected world, comprising both the realms of the living and the dead, accessed through a magical lantern. Upon its release, Lords of the Fallen achieved commercial success, selling over one million units within its first ten days.

Details about a rumored sequel to last year’s Lords of the Fallen have supposedly leaked, with a possible title being one of them.

Hexworks has fine-tuned various Lords of the Fallen aspects with update v1.1.637. Among the highlights are several fixes addressing multiplayer issues, ensuring smoother cooperative and competitive gameplay. These fixes include targeting specific spells and interactions in Crimson Rituals. Issues related to spells like Blessed Reflections, Infernal Hounds, and Seared Soul for invaders have been resolved, ensuring fair and balanced encounters. Additionally, adjustments have been made to automatically adjust values for Crimson Rituals once a matchup has begun, aiming to promote a more equitable PvP experience for Lords of the Fallen players when invading.

On the UI front, Hexworks has addressed various issues, including one with Tincts that allowed players to use the "Apply to all" function even when no Tinct was selected. Visual glitches in Forsaken Fen involving Umbral objects loading in visibly have been rectified, providing a more immersive environment for players. Additionally, hazard volumes have been added to ensure consistency in environmental hazards, such as the small lava pool in front of the Vestige of the Bloody Pilgrim.

Among the miscellaneous fixes, players can expect improvements to menu navigation and to Lords of the Fallen’s robust character creator, addressing an error that wrongly stated "Face Texture" instead of "Fine Tuning," as well as optimizations to boss encounters to reduce hitching and enhance overall gameplay fluidity. Additionally, an issue that caused the Umbral Distortion effects to get reactivated unexpectedly was also rectified.

In January, the Lords of the Fallen publisher laid off 10% of its entire team due to some challenges CI Games was facing. According to its CEO, these were measures aimed at preserving business strength and stability. As players gear up to explore Lords of the Fallen's latest update, Hexworks seems committed to delivering a polished gaming experience.
