Hexworks has released update v1.1.362 for Lords of the Fallen, targeting several key aspects such as significant performance optimization, better AI, and improved co-op. The game is a reboot of the 2014 title with the same name that was released in mid-October, with the new Lords of the Fallen managing to sell 1 million copies over the first 10 days of launch across all platforms. However, the game received mixed reactions from both critics and the Soulslike community.

Most of the mixed reactions stemmed from the issue of the Soulslike entry having significant performance issues, with Xbox players being hit the hardest and some having to refund the game because it was unplayable. However, since the launch, Hexworks has been pushing out patches, with update 1.1.326 significantly overhauling bosses in Lords of the Fallen by rebalancing their stats and behavior. Across social media platforms like Reddit and Twitter, these frequent updates have been well-received by players, with some commending the developers for their impressive communication.

Lords of the Fallen Update Makes Changes to New Game+ and More

Hexworks releases the latest update for Lords of the Fallen addressing community feedback with NG+ vestiges, crossplay fixes, and much more.

Now, Hexworks has announced its latest patch for Lords of the Fallen with update v1.1.362, aiming to tackle performance in several areas of the game, make AI more predictable, and improve matchmaking for co-op. The main multiplayer update in this patch regards co-op, with Hexworks adjusting the ping requirements, so players should now be able to matchmake and join sessions much faster. For performance optimization, several areas across the game, like Shuja Hamlet, Pilgrim’s Perch, and the Sanctuary of Baptism, have received overhauls to reduce the amount of shadows that small objects and minor details cast. In addition, players will now be able to read enemy actions better, as Hexworks stated in the patch notes that the AI has been adjusted to be “more consistent and predictable.”

In addition to these areas, the update also made adjustments to the camera, so it should disrupt the player less while in combat and also have smoother movement. There are also a number of level design, collision, visual, and UI fixes, such as items like important Lords of the Fallen consumables no longer being destroyed if a player picks it up with a full inventory.

Despite this big patch, there are more things to fix in the game, such as stuttering while auto-saving on the PS5 and Kukajin’s bugged quest. While there have not been any updates since last time about when fixes would arrive for those issues, the developers have released an ambitious Lords of the Fallen roadmap detailing everything coming to the game until the end of 2023. With this roadmap, it seems that Hexworks is determined to ensure Lords of the Fallen gets in its best shape sooner, rather than later.
