The buildcrafting potential in Lords of the Fallen can be a little dizzying. The urge to try everything out in this game is strong, especially once players start getting cool new weapons and magic spells.

Lords of the Fallen: How to Upgrade Weapons

Upgrading gear is essential to overcoming the challenges in Lords of the Fallen, and here's how to do it.

As per usual, players need to meet the right stat requirements for gear in Lords of the Fallen before they can equip them. Thankfully, the ability to respec any spent points becomes available fairly early into the game. This doesn't come without a catch, however, and players will still need to be wise when building their characters unless they have tons of Vigor to spend.

How to Respec in Lords of the Fallen

Rebirth Chrysalis respec item in Lords of the Fallen

The first thing players need to do is gain access to Skyrest Bridge, which is the main hub area of the game. It'll take a while before players get here from the tutorial section, however. They'll first need to go through an infested village and beat Pieta, the first real boss in Lords of the Fallen. She can be tricky to beat, but she'll go down easily to anyone who can dodge or parry her hard-hitting swings.

Once the boss is beaten, players will be able to enter Skyrest Bridge. They'll once again meet Pieta, who is now friendly. She'll help players on their journey by upgrading their Sanguinatrix and resetting their stat points, assuming she is given the right materials. To respec, players will need to purchase a Rebirth Chrysalis from another vendor in Skyrest Bridge: Molhu.

Molhu is a not-so-secret vendor who can only be interacted with if players are in the Umbral Realm. From the Skyrest Bridge Vestige, transition between planes and head up the flight of stairs closest to Pieta to find Molhu. He sells a variety of other Umbral items, including the gear players need to start using Umbral magic.

Pieta's services in Lords of the Fallen

Take the Rebirth Chrysalis back to Pieta to begin the respec process. This can be done only once per chrysalis, and players will need to purchase more from Molhu if they want to respec again. The downside here is that a single Rebirth Chrysalis costs 8,000 Vigor, which is a very steep price early on in the game. This, however, is great for players who want to try builds that are otherwise inaccessible to their starting class.

For players who want to earn decent amounts of Vigor, there is one good farming spot in Pilgrim's Perch. Teleport to the Vestige of Blind Agatha in the Bellroom to find an Ardent Penitent (the enemies with the big, cylindrical helmets). They can be baited into charging off the ledge outside the cave, instantly killing them and rewarding players with approximately 600 Vigor for a few seconds' worth of effort.

Lords of the Fallen is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
