10 Hardest Boss Fights Of The 2010s, Ranked

Difficult boss fights gained a lot of popularity during the 2010s, but these next battles took matters to another level.

Hammers, in particular, are especially good in Lords of the Fallen, and this includes both regular Hammers and Grand Hammers. Because this game has so many different weapons for players to find and experiment with, let's save The Lords of the Fallen players some time and go over the best Hammers in the game overall.

The Orian Preacher Hammer is on this list (and at the bottom of it) because it's a great weapon, that's for sure, but that's not the only reason. The fact that players can either start their game with this Hammer or get it very early on earns it a spot on here simply because it gives players a reliable Strength or Strength/Radiance damage option right off the bat.

80 Bleed Damage

The Hammer of Holy Agony is a rare example of a blunt weapon in Lords of the Fallen that doesn't feel too over the top in terms of its visual design. A lot of the Maces, Hammers, Grand Hammers, and more in LotF have comically large 'heads', are absurd in their concept (such as an Anvil on a stick), or aren't even a weapon at all (AKA Byron's Shovel).

In general, the Hammer of Holy Agony is just a fantastically reliable choice for a Radiance/Strength build character that wants a bit of Bleed Damage on top of everything else to make boss fights a bit easier.

The Precision Hammer is on here for basically every single reason that the Hammer of Holy Agony is, except that instead of scaling with STR/RAD, this scales with STR/AGI. And, instead of building up Bleed, the Precision Hammer builds up Poison. Players simply need to decide which status effect they like more and then choose that associated Hammer option.

Though, funnily enough, both the Precision Hammer and Hammer of Holy Agony are also worth using as a dual-wield setup, as doing so essentially turns the player into a hard-hitting Strength build that's also constantly draining the HP of their opponent through Poison and Bleed. Just remember that Soul Flaying is a vital tool when fighting the Mendacious Visage to get this weapon.

The Anvil Hammer is a slightly easier-to-use version of the Hammer that ranks just above it, the Faithful Bludgeon. This Grand Hammer has a lower stat requirement to wield it and can also be found in the early game if players end up going down the Path of Devotion using the Pilgrim's Perch Key.

Morality is gray in these games, and the lines between good and evil have never been more blurry.

There's not much more to say than that, it's an alternative option to the Faithful Bludgeon but both weapons serve the same function, the only decision the player has to make is if they'd rather smash their enemies with a giant rock or a literal anvil, which is a pretty tough choice.

The Faithful Bludgeon is probably the most iconic example Lords of the Fallen has of a pure Strength and pure caveman mentality type weapon. It's a big rock on a big stick that players swing around for big damage.

And, to be honest, it does that job exceptionally well. The Faithful Bludgeon has great Strength scaling, deals a bit of bonus Burn damage, and more than anything else it's a weapon players can grab early on in their playthrough.

The next weapon is another one of the more easily recognizable Hammer options in the game, and it's called the Kinrangr Rebel's Hammer. This goat-like skull Hammer is a great choice for a Strength build or a Strength/Agility build, as the weapon scales with both stats.

Not only that, but it's fast and it outputs some truly absurd Physical Damage compared to most other regular Hammer. Truly, this thing is putting out Grand Hammer-level damage with a much faster attack speed, so it's no wonder people seem to be using this weapon quite often.

Next up is another Grand Hammer that, quite frankly, is probably one of the best weapons in the entirety of Lords of the Fallen. The Nohuta Ritual Hammer is a pretty typical-looking Grand Hammer that's found in Fitzroy's Gorge area of the game, and it's a real powerhouse.

The major downside of this Hammer, however, is that it demands that its wielder has 26 Strength, 26 Inferno, and 26 Radiance, which is exactly why it's not at the very top of a lot of Strength build recommendations. That said, for players who are going for an Umbral Build or even a half melee half spellcaster build, the Nohuta Ritual Hammer might just be the best melee option for them overall.

Not only is this next Grand Hammer, the Taxidermist's Hammer, one of the most 'spooky-looking' weapons in Lords of the Fallen, but it's also just really powerful. The Taxidermist's Hammer seems to be intended to be used in a pure Strength build or a pseudo Strength/Inferno build, and it'll work exceptionally well for either of those options.

Coming up on another Grand Hammer, this one is called Devotion's Might. It's another Strength/Radiance scaling option (a lot of Hammers in LotF follow this trend) but this thing dishes out such absurd levels of Physical Damage that it rarely gets to capitalize on the Smite it steadily builds up before the enemy is already dead.

It's by far one of the most commonly used Grand Hammers by the community, and for good reason. In fact, for those who truly are obsessed with the idea of a 'bonk' playstyle, dual-wielding this Hammer alongside the Iron Wayfarer's Hammer can lead to some truly ridiculous (and hilarious) damage output.

There's a reason the Iron Wayfarer, one of the more imposing and intimidating human characters in Lords of the Fallen, puts his faith in his weapon, and that reason is that this Hammer is absurdly strong.

The Iron Wayfarer's Hammer is not just a Physical Damage monster, it also tries to do everything as it also outputs a bit of Wither, Holy, and Fire damage as well. It scales best with Strength but also has scaling in just about every stat, making it a useful weapon on just about any build if players use the right Runes on it.
