Lords of the Fallen has three different magic schools in the game that a player can choose from and dedicate their entire playthrough to. Performing these different kinds of magic, however, does require the use of a Catalyst. Every school has different catalysts that scale with Radiance and Inferno.

There are a lot of catalysts scattered throughout the game, either stashed behind boxes or given as a reward for completing certain questlines. These are some of the best catalysts players can use and where they might find them.
Updated June 2, 2024 by Waseem Muhammad: Lords of the Fallen has seen multiple updates in the past year after a not-so-exciting launch. The reason for these updates by the developers is to fix the initial bugs and also add more content to the game for the community. While fans are eagerly waiting for a possible DLC, they are still able to try out the new weapons and questlines the game has added.
The Catalysts in the game have not seen a major change throughout the updates and the ones on top are still the best options. This update lists stat information and requirements of all the Catalysts.
6 Nohuta Effigy
Allows For High Damaging Spells From Early Game

Nohuta Effigy is most probably the first option for many players who do not want to spend a lot of Vigor upgrading Radiance as well as Inferno to buff up the scaling of the spells. Having the highest Spellpower out of all the Umbral catalysts, Nohuta Effigy allows the player to take those low-damaging Umbral spells and increase their damage output by miles.
It can be acquired early in Revelation Depth making the rest of the playthrough a walk in the park. Through the early stages of the game, the players can solely focus on taking out enemies quicker from afar because of this catalyst's use.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
From the Skinstealer boss head down towards the small passageway on the left and keep going forward. Head left twice but not through the door and a dead end will appear. Change into Umbral and Soulflay the Umbral Belly to acquire this catalyst.
5 Radiant Purifier Catalyst

Choosing between higher Spellpower or higher scaling can be a difficult thing. However, in the early levels when players do not have many points in Radiance or Inferno, catalysts such as Radiant Purifier Catalyst can make a difference. The catalyst can be acquired very early on in Tower of Pennance, depending on the route the player takes for their playthrough.
Having such a high Spellpower catalyst allows for a flexible build. The drawback of having three slots can be noticeable but not to all players, especially those ignoring the Radiance buff spells.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
The catalyst is at the bottom of the Tower of Pennance just before the boss fight on the left. Near the elevator, pick up the item lying on the shrine with lit candles on it.
4 Miranda's Touch

The catalyst being available after defeating the last boss in the game can be a letdown for some players. However, this does not change the fact that Miranda's Touch takes the Spellpower to the ceiling. The catalyst has only three slots, making Miner's Pendant an option for players who want to add another slot.
Multiple spells can benefit a lot from the high Spellpower this catalyst provides such as Seismic Slam and Severing Blades. These spells are good options in PvP as well if the player is not used to dodging them, allowing the player to deal massive damage with the extra Spellpower.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
This catalyst can be acquired after completing Damarose's Questline. Defeat The Sundered Monarch and head up to find the items lying on the ground before interacting with Adyr.

3 Lost Berescu's Catalyst

For players who have acquired a lot of Vigor and have upgraded their Radiance and Inferno stats up to level 40 must have this catalyst equipped if they want to continue using any type of magic. This is because as the catalyst takes both stats into account and has "A" scaling on max level this allows the players to make a hybrid build if they want.
There are rings in the game that allow the player to use the magic of a different school, allowing players to cast protection magic as well as ranged Umbral or Infernal spells at high damage, annihilating mobs of enemies.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
From the Vestige of Lost Berescu go up the multiple sets of ladders and head through the archway near the Holy Bulwark enemy near the bridge. Behind the archway change into Umbral and Soulflay the nearby Umbral Belly to acquire this catalyst.
2 Exacter Scripture

Exacter Scripture earns the second spot because of how versatile the catalyst is. It provides five options of Radiance spells that the player can take into the world of Lords of the Fallen. There are a ton of Radiance spells that are quite overpowered and having the Exacter Scripture can make them even more powerful because of the high scaling.
Lords Of The Fallen: Hardest Bosses, Ranked
The are over 30 different bosses to find and overcome in Lords of the Fallen, and some of them are a lot more difficult than their peers are.
On the max level, the scaling of Radiance reaches "S" making spells like Lucent Beam and Orius' Judgement melt the bosses' health bar. Players can easily acquire this catalyst early on in Sunless Skein.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
To acquire this catalyst the players must complete Exacter Dunmire's quest. Simply head to the Vestige of Hooded Antuli after talking with Exacter Dunmire in Mother's Lull. From the Vestige head through the tunnel that leads back to the Upper Calrath and the items should be on the ground along the way.

Queen Sophesia's Catalyst is the best catalyst for Infernal spells for multiple reasons. Having five slots without having to equip the Miner's Pendant can be extremely useful, especially when the player wants to equip damaging as well as buff spells. The catalyst has the highest scaling out of all the other Inferno catalysts reaching "S" when fully maxed out.
The catalyst is acquired later on after Tortured Prisoner's questline so it might not be the first pick for all players. However, having this option for the subsequent playthroughs is a must.
Where To Acquire Catalyst
This catalyst can be acquired after finishing the Tortured Prisoner's questline. Alternatively, a player can also acquire it as a drop from the Tortured Prisoner boss fight if they fail to give her the Swaddling Cloth before fighting The Sundered Monarch. She appears hostile towards the path leading to the bedroom in Bramis Castle.
