Forza Horizon 4, released on the Xbox One series of consoles and PC in fall of 2018, is both a technical marvel and a densely packed racing game. Its open-world nature lends it to a variety of events and races in road racing, street racing, dirt racing, cross country, and drag racing.

And like all good racing games, players are out competing for that coveted world record on each individual track, whether it be the blink-and-you-miss-it drag races or the mega races unlocked through making it on the podium in every other race. It can be some seriously intense competition.

10 Castle Cross Country Circuit

The Castle Cross Country Circuit, located appropriately near beautiful Bamburgh Castle, features a pleasant drive through sandy beaches, flowery fields, and a cool, if a bit sketchy, jump through the castle courtyard. With this kind of varied terrain to content with, there’s a lot to handle to the be the fastest.

From the runs submitted to Speedrun.com, Deddie94, a runner from Finland, logged a 0:54.821 final lap to save nearly four seconds over his previous laps, closing out a crazy good split.

9 Ashbrook Loop Scramble

The Ashbrook Loop Scramble takes players through curving roads, bumpy and jumpy dirt paths, and throws in curveballs with a couple of unexpectedly sharp turns. One wrong move, and the driver will be sent off-course, losing a substantial amount of time.

However, with a mixture of careful planning and some risky movement, fast laps are more than possible. Farelines, an American runner, logged a 0:54.619 during a Dirt Racing 100% run, including surprisingly optimal wall-slamming action.

8 Lakehurst Woodland Scramble

The Lakehurst Woodland Scramble, a dirt race through the Lakehurst Forest, sends drivers on a scenic journey through the lush greenery along a muddy dirt path. With a number of sharp corners and no easy straight-a-ways, gaining and maintaining speed can often be a challenge.

However, Farelines once again was able to clutch the fastest lap, going just under a minute with a 0:59.605. While maybe not the cleanest of racers, Farelines optimizes speed above all, and the results speak for themselves.

7 The Ridge Cross Country Circuit

Going back to another cross-country race, The Ridge sends drivers through uneven terrain, over the hills and through the woods, complete with a jump that’ll satisfy the thrillseekers. This track is certainly not fit for every car to handle.

As long as the driver can avoid doing too much property damage, it is possible to get some fast laps. The fastest lap on this track belongs to palayoplays from Switzerland who, even with the crash landings, managed a 1:14.503 first lap.

6 Greendale Foothills Scramble

The last of the traditional event races, the Greendale Foothills Scramble is a dirt race that sends drivers winding along the foothills on a slick road, including a river crossing and a few sharp corners.

However, the track also contains a fair number of mostly straight roads that, with good handling during the rougher spots, can allow some laps that are impressive to watch. While the competition hovers around 1:15, Farelines once again proves their expertise over the dirt racing category with a 1:08.967 final lap.

5 The Colossus

The Colossus is one of the special races in Forza Horizon 4, unlocked after getting on the podium in all the other road races. This mega road race isn’t split into laps, so its place here on the list is due to the length of the splits on Speedrun.com, along with fastest completion time.

To properly challenge the Colossus requires a car with good speed over handling and acceleration, despite the risks of using that type of vehicle. Deddie94 managed to pull out a nearly sub-4-minute Colossus time with a 4:02.252 finish.

4 The Titan

The Titan, the ultimate cross-country race, is truly a behemoth of an event, taking the player across tons of unique landscapes with jump after jump of intense action. Similar to The Colossus, this event is timed through completion as opposed to being by lap, but its complex terrain creates more of a puzzle for racers than The Colossus.

With some skill and a good balance of handling and sheer speed, drivers can equip themselves to challenge this beast. After quite the Herculean effort and even with costly errors, Deddie94 toppled the Titan in 4:57.038.

3 The Marathon

The Marathon is the ultimate street race, not legally sanctioned by the Horizon festival according to in-game lore, but still a whole lot of fun. This intense track has some fun colors, fireworks at nighttime, and requires quick reactions to both the dangerous turns and other cars on the road.

If the driver can avoid crashing, they can become the ruler of the streets. The current ruler is Deddie94, who capped off a world record All Races run (linked previously) with a 5:24.223 finish in The Marathon.

2 The Gauntlet

The Gauntlet is the ultimate dirt race and brings back plenty of familiar obstacles from previous dirt races to create a series of challenges that will throw off any inexperienced driver.

With a mixture of on-road and off-road stretches, combined with the sharp turns from other courses, it takes precision to truly go fast on this course. Through utilizing the curved, solid barricades to increase their speed, Farelines flung to the top with an 8:02.312 finish.

1 The Goliath

The Goliath is the ultimate of Forza Horizon 4 races: a lap around the entirety of the huge open world. Featuring elements from every event type, getting the fastest finish in The Goliath is certainly a much sought-after title.

Even with the fastest of vehicles, this track can take upwards to nine minutes to complete. The slightest of mistakes could cost someone the record. So its no surprise that even Deddie94 himself was shocked when he finished The Goliath in 7:22.723 during an already impressive All Races run.
