Loki season 2 creatives have revealed that Sylvie (Sophia Di Martino) will return with a new wardrobe.

Loki season 1 joined WandaVision as one of Marvel Studios' most rewatchable Disney Plus projects. But unlike the trauma-filled reality that Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) created for herself in the limited series, Loki is returning for another adventure. Jumping away from an alternate 2012 New York timeline in Avengers: Endgame, the TVA immediately arrested Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in the show's first episode. Always on the look for threats to the Sacred Timeline, Loki popped out to the time enforcement agency. But he wasn’t the only one. Loki soon found that the biggest threat to the timeline was another version of himself. Sylvie had been on the run since she was a child and did not understand what she did to become a variant. And just like the cunning Hiddleston version, his female counterpart and her backstory became the best part of Loki.

The Loki season finale showed a rift between the strange soulmates, throwing Sylvie's future in the show up in question. But at a display for San Diego's 2023 Comic-Con, fans can rest assured that Sylvie will return in the upcoming season. Vice President of Marvel, Ryan Penagos, took to Twitter to celebrate the upcoming season of the fan-favorite Loki character. “Loki Loki Loki!” he posted under his Twitter handle, @AgentM, including pictures of costumes that will appear in season 2. One of the standouts was a new outfit for Sylvie, featuring a stylish checkered coat over a set of armor with clothespins piercing the torso.

This display was unabashedly Sylvie. With the same color scheme and severe aesthetic that Loki wears, her costume has a more tailored look. In the past season, Loki's main costume was a shirt and tie when he wasn’t wearing the customary TVA jumpsuit. In turn, Sylvia took on his same fashion sense but with a more feminine edge.

This is encouraging news for a series with an unfortunate amount of controversy. When Loki season 1 first aired, Jonathan Majors' Kang persona was celebrated. Now, things have taken a dour turn, as Majors has been embroiled in more allegations of abuse and aggressive behavior. There is no news on how this will be handled, given that Kang was set up at the end of season 1, but including Sylvie after last season’s drama is the right choice.

The season can focus more on her residual issues with the TVA and the odd dynamic between her and Loki. Though it makes sense that the one person our variant would fall in love with would be himself, there is still a question if kissing an alternate-timeline version of yourself is legal. All this and more things fans want to see in Loki season 2 should be explored when it premieres on streaming.

Loki season 2 will premiere on Disney Plus on October 6, 2023.
