While subscribing to multiple streaming platforms is the way to go these days, for many, there's something to be said for owning the physical copy of your favorite show. Collectors and cinephiles enjoy building a mighty quiver of movies and TV series for their home theater room or for when friends come over and it can be nice to know that even if prices increase and you are forced to unsubscribe from a streaming service, you'll always have your favorite shows and movies on hand.
They also just look nice on a shelf grouped all together, and that's especially true for the SteelBook editions of Blu-rays and 4K UHD. More and more top series and movies are being released in SteelBook and these are sometimes Limited Editions or come with extra features that aren't available elsewhere. Disney recently announced that a number of their top shows are going to be released in SteelBook, with Loki Season 1 already out since September 26th. Loki Season 1 Available In SteelBook To Order Now
As mentioned, Loki Season 1 is already out now in SteelBook, and while some SteelBook releases are Best Buy Exclusives, this one is wide release, meaning it is available at a number of retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, and more. Not only that, but you can choose between Blu-Ray or 4K UHD versions of the season and Amazon currently has them both on sale. There's clearly a lot of value here for fans of the series, especially when taking into account the sale price and the bonus features. There are even concept art cards inside the tin, making this deal hard to pass up and likely to sell out. And while fans of The Mandalorian and WandaVision will have to wait a bit to get the SteelBook versions of those shows, Loki fans can grab this one before Season 2 comes out on October 5th.
What About WandaVision & The Mandalorian SteelBook?
Disney also revealed that the first two seasons of The Mandalorian will also be coming out in SteelBook before the end of 2023, as well as WandaVision. Like, Loki, all three are available in both Blu-ray and 4K UHD versions, and both should come with the expected extras and bonus features similar to Loki.
WandaVision comes out after Loki, with a release date of November 28th, just in time for Christmas shopping. After that, The Mandalorian is released on December 12th (with the two seasons packaged separately). Pre-orders are open now, however, and with both titles expected to sell quickly for the holiday season, pre-ordering doesn't seem like too bad of an idea to make sure you get them all.
