The Logitech G Pro X Superlight wireless gaming mouse has been one of our favorite mice since it was introduced a few years ago. Its no-frills lightweight design made it both precise and comfortable, offering gamers, casual users, and esports professionals a perfect option for daily use. To be honest, there were only a few small ways that the Logitech G Pro X Superlight could get better, and as it usually does, Logitech has made those improvements and then some.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 is the latest model and, while it doesn’t completely blow its predecessor out of the water, it does pack in a few changes/upgrades that will make this one of the best gaming mice out there. It’s slightly lighter, even more precise, and will ensure gamers get even more usage out of the mouse before needing to break out a charging cable.

On the topic of charging, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 trades the micro-USB charging port of its predecessor for the more ubiquitous USB-C port. The Superlight 1 had a somewhat awkward charging cable that had two prongs that slid into the mouse, making it a more cumbersome charging solution than a simple cable. Presumably, Logitech went with that design to allow gamers to use the Logitech G Pro X Superlight in a way that felt like a wired mouse instead of a mouse with a cable attacked, but it still felt like a design misstep. The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has opted for the straightforward USB-C and is all the better as a result. Now, it’s much easier to pull out any handy USB-C cable and give the mouse some juice.

Design-wise, the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has the same form factor as the Superlight 1, only slightly lighter. This year’s model now weighs in at 60 grams instead of the prior one’s 63. It’s not a massive change, but for a mouse that is supposed to glide across the pad being lightweight as possible, while still feeling substantial is a major selling point.

Logitech has upped the precision on the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 in a few different ways. The switch technology under the left and right mouse keys is a hybrid of optical and mechanical switches to preserve the precision of those clicks and take advantage of the energy-saving of a mechanical switch. In our testing, we didn’t find any noticeable difference between these switches, but that feels more like a testament to how good the Superlight 1 was to start. For esports users, though, the benefit of increased precision should be appreciated.

Tracking on the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 has been significantly improved thanks to the new Hero 2 sensor. Capable of up to 32,000 DPI, the sensor brings a bunch of buzzwords to the table but the most important things to know are that it is super precise and capable of maintaining tracking even if users tilt or lift the mouse. Logitech G Hub software is there to make all the adjustments that a variety of gamers could need, but the mouse is plenty capable right out of the box.

Other benefits like better battery life (up to 95 hours, according to Logitech) and zero-additive PFTE feet ensure prolonged use and an effortless glide during long gaming sessions. The Superlight 1 already did very well in terms of its comfort, feel, and battery life but again Logitech has made improvements where it can. We’re also big fans of Logitech G’s Lightspeed wireless technology for its reliability and responsiveness.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 is an excellent mouse made better. While esports pros are likely to find the most benefit from the increased precision, casual gamers should appreciate the reliability all the same. Admittedly, there aren’t any drastic changes to the design, but USB-C charging and better battery life are great touches that help keep the mouse in line with its competition.

While some are going to be looking for a mouse that has a lot of bells and whistles, it’s hard to overlook an option that hits the basics very well. If gamers are looking for a low-profile gaming mouse that is incredibly lightweight without feeling cheap or flimsy the Pro X Superlight 2 is yet another top-tier offering from Logitech.

The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 wireless gaming mouse is available now for $159.00. Game ZXC was provided a unit for coverage purposes.
