Logan Paul has successfully defeated Rey Mysterio to win the United States Championship at the WWE Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia. Logan Paul made his WWE debut in 2021 before signing a multi-year contract with the company in 2022. As a contracted wrestler, Paul has performed in a number of high-profile matches, including multiple WrestleMania appearances.
While Logan Paul has competed at WrestleMania and had an incredible showing at the latest Royal Rumble event, his championship pursuits have been fruitless until now. At Crown Jewel 2022, Paul faced Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in a losing effort. Now, at the 2023 Crown Jewel event, Paul has successfully defeated WWE legend Rey Mysterio for the United States Championship.

According to WWE 2K23's MyGM Mode, it seems that the upcoming Crown Jewel PLE could be a big night of safe bets and huge upsets.
As one might have guessed, Paul didn't defeat Mysterio clean. At the end of the match, Mysterio nailed Paul with a 619, but the social media star had secretly slipped on a pair of brass knuckles. As Mysterio went for his signature springboard splash that typically follows the 619, Paul got to his feet and punched Mysterio with the brass knuckles in mid-air. This was enough to keep Mysterio down and give Logan Paul the win, as well as his first championship in WWE.
Logan Paul joins a long line of United States champions, with the title's lineage dating all the way back to when the legendary Harley Race won it in 1975. It's one of the most prestigious mid-card titles in all of wrestling, with many US champions eventually going on to win a world title. It remains to be seen if Paul will ever win a world title in WWE, but considering his popularity, it's certainly out of the question.
As previously mentioned, Logan Paul has signed a multi-year contract with WWE. And at only 28 years old, Paul has a very long career ahead of him, if he decides to stick with WWE for the long haul. It will be interesting to see what happens in the immediate aftermath of his United States Championship victory. Considering the way Paul won the title, one has to imagine that a rematch with Rey Mysterio will be next before Paul moves on to other potential opponents.
