Logan Paul recently showed off an impressive Pokemon-themed gift he received during a podcast with WWE legend Rey Mysterio. The high-flying luchador, WWE 2K22 cover star, and recent WWE Hall of Fame inductee is known for his colorful wrestling masks, which he occasionally models after famous comic book and movie characters. He also wrestled Logan Paul during his first wrestling match during last year’s WrestleMania 38 in a much-publicized tag-team match that also featured Rey’s son Dominik and The Miz.

There, Logan Paul surprised the crowd with his impressive in-ring ability, landing a win against the Mysterios and quickly cementing himself as one to watch in the ever-shifting WWE landscape. He has also been featured as a playable character in the last two WWE 2K games - first as DLC for last year’s WWE 2K22, then as part of the main roster for the recent WWE 2K23. It should thus come as no surprise that Paul occasionally features fellow WWE talent on his weekly podcast, and his latest guest left him with a special gift in honor of his favorite monster-collecting card game franchise.

Earlier this week, Rey Mysterio appeared on Logan Paul’s IMPAULSIVE podcast to discuss his recent feud with his son Dominik, his induction into the WWE Hall of Fame, and a host of other topics. During this appearance, Paul revealed that Rey gave him a specially-designed luchador mask modeled after Pokemon - specifically the iconic fire-breathing lizard Charizard. Paul donned this mask for a picture with Rey and co-host Mike Majlak, which Paul later posted to his Instagram account. The mask was designed by Masahiro Hayashi, who has designed much of Rey Mysterio’s gear throughout his long and illustrious wrestling career.

Logan Paul has often shown his affinity for collecting rare and valuable Pokemon cards, and has occasionally worn some around his neck as a good luck charm during boxing matches and WWE events. The most noteworthy of these is the ultra-rare “Illustrator Pikachu” card, which he wore to his debut WrestleMania 38 match and has been listed by Guinness World Records as the "Most Expensive Trading Card Sold at a Private Sale." He has also shown off his rare 1st Edition Charizard card during a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather on June 6, 2021.

While Logan Paul hasn’t had much time to promote his Pokemon card-collecting hobbies in recent months, his very-public pursuits of some of the game’s rarest cards have arguably helped renew interest in the Pokemon TCG. Now he has a truly one-of-a-kind item to add to his growing Pokemon collection, courtesy of the legendary Rey Mysterio himself.
