Announced back in August last year, Little Nightmares 2 looks to be a bigger and more expansive take on the universe established in the first game, introducing a new protagonist and a host of fresh villains. This time around, Mono, a young boy living in a world distorted by a mysterious signal tower, must team up with original Little Nightmares protagonist Six on a mission to uncover the eerie secrets behind the hostile landscape.

With the sequel's February release date inching closer by the day, Bandai Namco has seen fit to release some fresh information about the game, including a creepy Halloween trailer and the announcement of a new collector's edition. If both new scraps of information signal anything it's that Little Nightmares 2 is going to bring some major scares when it drops on modern and next-generation consoles in 2021.

Despite clocking in at just under 90 seconds, the Halloween trailer delivers a lot of new details about Little Nightmares' upcoming sequel. For one, it seems cooperation will be a big part of the campaign, with players assuming the role of Mono while a CPU takes the role of Six. They can be seen navigating environments together and having to rely on each other to sneak past enemies. Unlike the last game, it seems there will be traps in the environment as well, with Mono triggering a loose floorboard early into the trailer and getting knocked over by a hanging, steel battering ram.

Of course, there will also be a whole host of monstrous new enemies to contend with, and it seems Tasier hasn't held back with its surreal approach to designing Little Nightmares' haunting antagonists. One of the trailer's first encounters highlights a masked hunter carrying a rifle and a beaming torch, while another sees a large, wormlike man hanging from the ceiling. Fans are also shown more of the terrifying, snakelike teacher and a mysterious tall man in a suit that many have theorized could be the central antagonist.

The new collector's edition, on the other hand, will be called the "Stay Tuned" bundle and feature several fun goodies. The pack includes a copy of the game, figurines of both Mono and Six, a steelbook, an artbook, and some stickers. The whole thing also comes packaged in a TV-themed box, once again hinting that the signal tower and TVs seen in the trailers will be a huge aspect of the title's plot. Little Nightmares 2 is definitely shaping up to be an action-packed sequel with a lot to offer returning fans of the franchise.

Little Nightmares 2 will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on February 11, 2021, while it will be getting free Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 upgrades at a later date.
