Little Nightmares 2 had some pretty high expectations following the positive reception to its prequel Little Nightmares in 2017. As such, many horror fans considered Little Nightmares 2 to be one of the biggest releases of February 2021, alongside titans like Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and Persona 5 Strikers.

Now it seems as if that anticipation has paid off, as Little Nightmares 2 has already hit an impressive sales milestone just one month after its release. According to publisher Bandai Namco, Little Nightmares 2 reached one million copies sold just days before its one-month anniversary.

The news comes by way of a press release statement on Bandai Namco's official website. Bandai Namco highlighted how impressive this feat is, explaining that Little Nightmares 2 is "the first title developed by BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe to do so in this timeframe." The press release also announces that the Little Nightmares series as a whole has now reached over five million players total, which Bandai Namco says is quite an important milestone for "this western-led franchise." Seeing as reviews for Little Nightmares 2 were largely very positive too, it's no wonder the game has been performing well.

It seems that Bandai Namco is intent on continuing the series, alluding that the team "can't wait to share with you what's next." However, it seems that the development team behind the series is not on the same page, as Tarsier Studios said it is finished with the series following Little Nightmares 2's release. Depending on what direction Bandai Namco decides to take the series, this could be bad news for fans of the horror adventure titles. Regardless, it's an impressive milestone for Little Nightmares 2 and the series as a whole.

Little Nightmares 2 is out now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions currently in development.
