Strengthening bonds with party members in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an essential component of maximizing combat-specific bonuses. Although there are multiple ways to raise bond levels, some approaches will get players across the finish line faster than others.

There are various mechanics in place that facilitate bonds. From playing mini-games together to having conversations over a meal, each interaction contributes overall to the bond level which will ultimately determine combat effectiveness, as well as shed light on the background lore of the many interesting party members that Ichiban can take along.

The Benefits Of Raising Bonds

Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth builds upon its predecessor’s party-based combat system and takes it up a notch by correlating the strength of the party member’s bond level with Ichiban and their resulting synergy in battle. For every ten-level increase in bond level (at milestones level 10, 20, 30, and so on), players can head to the Survive or Revolve bar to initiate conversations with their party members, called Drink Links.

These conversations, in addition to raising Ichiban’s personality traits, also offer combat rewards like powerful tag team skills and increased chances of follow-up attacks with party members. Increasing bond levels is also vital for unlocking more skill inheritance slots, so players can create their ultimate job by gathering the strongest skills from each job. Maxing out bond levels will always serve as a satisfying narrative closure to the background stories of these party members, who, in their own ways, are plagued by their troublesome pasts.

How To Increase Bond Level

Engaging in special meal conversations and partaking in mini-games to increase bond levels are returning options from Yakuza: Like A Dragon. For combo meals that trigger Table Talk with party members, the most reliable option is to order everything from the restaurant’s menu. This option can only be used once per restaurant, and will marginally increase bond levels for all party members involved in the conversation. After Table Talk has commenced, players can still continue to eat at the same restaurant together with their party members, but the gains towards bond level are much smaller.

In terms of party-based mini-games, Ichiban can get together with his teammates for a karaoke sing-along at the bars, playing darts, or engaging with hostesses at the cabaret clubs. Mini-games and meal conversations are options to increase all party members’ bond levels equally at once, even though the increase is modest.

For the quickest way to raise bond levels, players will need to target party members specifically via a new system in Infinite Wealth: the Bond Bingo. This is a bingo card for some of the favorite hobbies and interests of Ichiban’s party members. Completing each square on this bingo card requires players to navigate to pink speech bubbles riddled throughout the map to initiate small conversations called Walk And Talk. Getting bingo will net bonus points towards the bond level increase, so this is the most reliable strategy for raising bonds with party members the fastest. By hovering over the squares, players can get a clue about which Walk And Talk icon on the map they should navigate to, in order to complete a bingo. The process is demonstrated in the video below.

Finally, players can offer custom items as gifts to party members at the Survive or Revolve bars, or purchase a gift directly from some of the stores around Kamurocho and Honolulu when the prompt appears. Although any gifts from such stores will grant a small bonus to the bond, tailoring the gift to the party member’s interest will result in a greater boost to the bond level.
