For the first time in the Like A Dragon series, Ryu Ga GotokuStudios has implemented a feature for players to listen to their favorite tunes from the Sega classics on the go as they explore the sprawling regions of Infinite Wealth. This is a welcome addition and improvement upon the jukebox feature of Yakuza: Like A Dragon.

Though the Playlists mechanic in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth is relatively straightforward, there are some caveats worth discussing when making the best use of the music player feature. The guide below will highlight how players can create and use their own playlists, as well as the best locations where they can acquire more CDs of music tracks in the game.

How To Create And Use Playlists

Playlists in Infinite Wealth

Before players can get access to the Playlists feature of the game, they will be required to progress sufficiently in Chapter 1 of the main story. Upon triggering unmissable Substory 1- “Radio Active,” players will be introduced to the mechanic. From here onward, players can listen to some default music tracks as well as any obtained CDs via three different modes: the radio in Ichiban’s residence in Kamurocho, the jukeboxes in Survive Bar (Kamurocho) and Revolve Bar (Honolulu), and finally the Playlists app on the smartphone.

Except for the After6Junction2 podcast episodes, which will be better appreciated by Japanese speakers, multiple tracks can be created into a playlist via the smartphone app. To do this, players can simply hop into the main menu, choose the tracks from the Song List, and add them to their playlist, in the order they wish to listen to via their music player.

After doing so, players simply have to hold the L1/LB button to activate the music note symbol in the bottom left of the screen and press the corresponding directional inputs to shuffle between tracks to play the desired track. Do note that the music player cannot be used inside safe houses like the Revolve Bar, in dungeons, or during certain story segments in the numerous Chapters. The track, however, will continue to play even while in the main menu of the game. The video demonstration below also showcases these steps to creating a playlist and using the music player to play a tune on the go.

How To Acquire More Music Tracks

Soundtrack CDs in Infinite Wealth

In order to expand the collection of the song lists in Like A Dragon: Infinite Wealth, players must get their hands on music CDs. These can either be acquired as collectibles via exploration of the game’s map, or more reliably so, as rewards in exchange for points for multiple side activities. Some of the locations of the side activities where players can exchange points for CDs are:

  • Open Road Shogi - Little Japan
  • Crazy Delivery - East Aloha Beach
  • Sicko Snap - East Waikiki, Anaconda, Cultural District
  • Hawaiian Haunt - Anaconda

As for the After6Junction 2 (Japanese) and SegWaves (English) podcasts, these will occasionally be added directly to the song list as players progress through the main story.
