The studio behind the upcoming Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name spin-off reveals the winners of the auditions for the game's hostess minigame. Several characters in the Like a Dragon franchise have had realistic faces based on the actors that they're played by. This is most noticeable in the most recent games, with villains, supporting characters, and extra cast members like the hostesses sharing their likenesses with their actors. The hostesses in particular have been played by famous Japanese adult video stars or actors in the past.The developers have stated that Like a Dragon Gaiden will feature the fan-favorite Cabaret Club minigame, which means that the player will encounter several new ladies to be part of their business. These in-game hostesses were decided by an audition process for the game that started back in November, with the second round ending in late January with the top ten decided, and the top five having now been selected. Among these top five winners is prominent VTuber star and Like a Dragon megafan Ksononair.Ksononair, or simply Kson, is a prominent American-Japanese livestreamer who does both on-camera and VTube streaming. She's also a huge fan of Sega's long-running franchise, having a massive love for series protagonist Kiryu Kazuma. She was one of the top ten finalists for Like a Dragon Gaiden's hostess auditions, with her fanbase in both Japan and the West hoping she'd be in the game. As evidenced by a recent announcement, she and four other women were selected to be part of the upcoming title.
Kson's fanbase exploded with joy, with many congratulating her on her passing the audition to become a part of Like a Dragon Gaiden. The other finalists who passed were Ayu, Ai Kaname, Ai Sayama, and Kokoro Nakayama. All of these women who have passed the audition will be appearing in live-action video segments as cabaret club girls, and will also participate in various promotional activities.
There is also another set of auditions, or a "Grand Prix" that will be taking place that will be for the upcoming Like a Dragon 8. It will have these five judged to see who will be an in-game hostess for the eighth game. Many fans are hoping that Kson will be able to go two-for-two and end up in both games. For the time being, fans are celebrating Kson's appearance in the upcoming Gaiden.
