A brand-new update video from Sega and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio reveals that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will have a surprising bonus feature: a special demo of the eighth mainline game in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Like a Dragon Gaiden focuses on Kazuma Kiryu, who has taken up to being an agent of the Daidoji Faction. It will also serve as the game that bridges the gaps between Yakuza 6, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, focusing on Kiryu Kazuma's perspective throughout the events of these three Like a Dragon games.

The video opens with Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio director, Masayoshi Yokoyama, recapping some elements fans have learned about the game. Yokoyama then unveiled a few new videos that showed off new story and gameplay elements. This included Kiryu's new Agent and Yakuza fighting styles, the hostesses of Gaiden's Cabaret Club, and Karaoke mini-games. After showcasing the gameplay features of Gaiden, a special cutscene played.

The video first shows off a brief scene from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. Kasuga Ichiban is in Hawaii and has found himself in a pair of handcuffs. He is then freed by Kiryu himself, with Kasuga shocked to see him. The video then reveals a "Special Trial" for Infinite Wealth, which will be included and available to download with a purchase of Like a Dragon Gaiden.

Yokoyama notes fans might be surprised to hear that a demo of Infinite Wealth will be included with Like a Dragon Gaiden, and clarifies the "Special Trial" part of the demo. According to Yokoyama, this special content will include scenes that won't be included in the eighth main game, but can be viewed after beating Gaiden. He also reveals that Gaiden will be getting hands-on demos at various gaming industry events throughout the year, including Gamescom, Pax West, and Tokyo Game Show.

The trailers included in this showcase highlight both the story and gameplay of the spin-off, along with the narrative ties between Gaiden and Infinite Wealth. There are several story beats throughout the trailer that reference the events of past Like a Dragon games, such as Kiryu's family back at Morning Glory Orphanage and the dissolution of the Tojo Clan and Omi Alliance from Yakuza: Like a Dragon.

Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will launch November 9, 2023, on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
