Publisher Paradox Interactive announces that Life by You releases in early access next March. Developer Paradox Tectonic had intended to begin Life By You's early access period this September but explained it needs additional time to work on several improvements to the game.

Developer Paradox Tectonic revealed its The Sims competitor, Life by You, last March. The upcoming life simulation game is being directed by Rod Humble, best known for his work on The Sims 2 and The Sims 3 and as the former CEO of Second Life developer Linden Lab. Life by You innovates on the established The Sims formula by introducing a seamless open world, customizable dialogue, and the ability to control any character at any time.

Paradox Tectonic's Life by You launches in early access on March 5, 2024, according to a recent video and press release from the developer. As director Rod Humble explained in a received video on Life By You's YouTube channel, the studio has been listening carefully to feedback from fans and the studio's partners in the modding community. Paradox Tectonic is thus introducing several significant improvements. However, implementing them requires pushing Life By You's early access release back to early 2024.

These upgrades include visual improvements, gameplay refinement, an overhauled user interface, additional modding tools, bug fixes, and two new languages. The game already supports English, French, Spanish, and German, but Paradox Tectonic plans to add Italian and Portuguese to the early access build. Life by You's visual enhancements will include better animations, more detailed character models, improved lighting, and new visual assets.

Humble was less specific when discussing the other topics but said that Life by You's refined gameplay features will provide a "more robust experience" and that Paradox Tectonic will reveal the new UI later this week. Finally, while bug fixing will be an ongoing process during the Early Access period, Paradox Tectonic hopes to deliver a "smoother and more polished experience" from the very beginning. Meanwhile, Life by You's updated mod tools should help to improve the modding workflow.

Paradox is automatically refunding the purchase of customers who pre-ordered Life by You through the Epic Games Store, and they will need to pre-order the game again. However, Paradox hopes to make it up by announcing a new pre-order bonus called the "Nightclub Vibe Pack." The pack includes eight exclusive furniture items the player can use to decorate an in-game nightclub or to give their characters' homes a bit of nightlife atmosphere.
