How to Get the Bad Ending in Lies of P
The bad ending in Lies of P is ironically the one that allows the main protagonist to live as a real boy under Geppetto's care. The Real Boy: They All Lived Happily After ending may sound like the ideal state, but playing through the game will reveal some damning facts about the people of Krat, and this is hardly the fairytale conclusion that many will be after.
To get to this ending, it doesn't matter whether players choose to tell the truth or lie during any of the decisions that the game provides. Instead, it all hinges on one major decision near the end of the game. When confronting Geppetto in the final room after the Under the Abyss Stargazer, give in to his pleas and present the heart to the creator.
This will not trigger the usual final fight against the Nameless Puppet. After grabbing the heart and the screen fading to black, Geppetto eventually emerges on the streets of Krat accompanied by the now-revived Carlo, who takes the place of the protagonist who has been saving the day.
The fading words of Sophia ask if this is the future that players wanted, and it is indeed an important question to ask after learning about all the atrocities that have caused the city to crumble in the first place.
All Endings in Lies of P
In total, there are three different endings for Lies of P, and this bad ending is only one of them. To get the other two endings, Rise of P and Free from the Puppet String, it will depend on if players have chosen to lie or tell the truth more during the run.
