A souls-like is always going to test the skills of a player with its tough bosses and challenging level designs, but there are also other ways of leveling the playing field, so to speak. In Lies of P, the game provides players with a selection of fine weapons to wield, ranging from the light and fast to the blunt and heavy in order to eliminate anything that is blocking progression towards the end of the story.
In addition to the arsenal of normal weapons that can be found in chests and from defeating many of the bosses that await in Krat, there are several Special Weapons in Lies of P that offer drastically different abilities and approaches, with one being the toughest to get out of all of them. This guide will provide players with all the key information to obtaining that very weapon, the Golden Lie.
How to Get the Golden Lie in Lies of P
This weapon is particularly hard to get, not because there is a tough boss to beat or a fiendishly difficult puzzle to solve, but rather, it is the decisions that need to be made and the hours spent on actually beating the game that make the Golden Lie such a prize to get.
In order to obtain the Golden Lie in Lies of P, players will have to follow these steps:
- Never tell the truth for any of the decisions in the game; always choose to lie. This will allow Pinocchio to gain Humanity and eventually turn the P-Organ into an actual beating human heart.
- Grab the portrait of Pinocchio that can be found in the Malum District. After defeating the Black Rabbit Brotherhood for the first time, head into their base of operations and turn left into a side room. Return to Hotel Krat and speak with Geppetto to pass the painting to him.
- Listen to all obtained Records at the Record Player in the hotel, as each new song will grant Humanity to the player. This can include both normal and golden records that can only be found in New Game+.
- After defeating Laxasia the Complete, seek out Sophia and choose the option to Give Her Peace. At this point, Pinocchio should have a second hair change, turning its locks gray.
- Next, defeat Simon Manus, Awakened God, and proceed on to the end to find Geppetto. Refuse his offer and fight the Nameless Puppet. This will bring about the end of the game.
- After this, do not start New Game+ just yet. Load up the finished game, and go back to Hotel Krat. Here, go up to the painting and grab the Golden Lie to round out the collection.
Wielding the Golden Lie
Despite the hard work put into getting the Golden Lie in Lies of P, this is not exactly a godlike weapon that obliterates everything that comes before it. It deals Blunt damage, and damage starts off at just 94. The Attribute modifiers for it are both C for Motivity and Technique, which kind of forces players to make a choice.
What it does well are the Fable Arts, with both Storm Attack and Furious Golden Hits being great for crowd control and less so for single enemies.
