Boss fights are always an indication of just how good a souls-like can be, and in Lies of P, the game is not shy at throwing some truly difficult fights in the way of players to test their mastery of the various systems. Be it dodging, blocking, or knowing the elements, having the skill is only the base requirement for taking down some of the harder bosses in the game.

And as far as challenging enemies go, perhaps none can compare to the optional final boss known as the Nameless Puppet in Lies of P. As the true final boss, players are going to have to rely on everything they have learned thus far to get over this fight, and this guide will provide all the key information required to do just that.

How to Beat the Nameless Puppet in Lies of P

As is the norm by now, knowing how to perfectly guard against attacks will be a skill that comes in handy during this fight. If not, just being consistent with blocking can be a lifesaving tactic in both phases of the battle. The use of a defensive Legion Arm like the Aegis can help, as will equipping faster weapons and better armor.

Phase 1

In essence, the Nameless Puppet is an enemy similar to any of the Stalkers or even Laxasia the Complete, which means it moves fast and hits hard.

  • In general, this enemy will use its sword to attack and, at times, transform the weapon into a greatsword to deal more damage.
  • It will use a flurry of quick slashes as a base combo, so either guard perfectly or keep the block up to reduce damage taken.
  • When it uses the greatsword, it will look to rush at the player. A well-timed dodge or block will open up a window for attacking.
  • The swinging greatsword attacks are easily avoided and give players some time to do some damage of their own.

Be a little more defensive and look to strafe around the Nameless Puppet as much as possible, only attacking when it is taking some downtime or Staggered by consistent blocking. Try not to get too far away from it, as it has the ability to use a Pulse Cell to regenerate its health as well.

Phase 2

How to Beat the Nameless Puppet in Lies of P Phase 2

Now that Geppetto is no longer in control of the Nameless Puppet, things are about to get even more dangerous than before.

  • Expect greater speed of attacks. Slash combos now combine fast attacks and constant movement from the Nameless Puppet, so try to get the timing down to negate damage.
  • If the boss leaps into the air, watch out for a speedy dive that can be avoided with a dodge.
  • It can also fire off a wave of energy to its front when jumping into the air. Try to block it, as there might not be enough time to get away.
  • When it joins its swords together, it will unleash an extended combo of back-and-forth slashes. Tough it out, or use the Aegis to gain some footing.
  • At range, it can use two attacks. The first is a grab, so if the Nameless Puppet starts rearing up, get ready to dodge at the last possible moment. Otherwise, when it changes its weapon to a lance, it will fire out a beam followed by a thrust.

Same as before, it is wise to only attack when there's some downtime. It can be hard to block all of the fast-moving attacks, so expect to take some damage and heal up whenever possible. Aegis will be great here as well, as is the Perfect Guard Grindstone, which triggers a Perfect Guard every few seconds. Hopefully, that will cause the Nameless Puppet to be Staggered and let players execute a Fatal Attack.

Eventually, it will be brought down, rewarding players with the Nameless Puppet's Ergo and leading to either the good or bad ending of Lies of P.

Lies of P is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
