Two of 2023's best Soulslikes are set to cross over, as Lies of P has announced a set of new items coming to the game inspired by Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Selling over one million copies in just a month, Lies of P was released in September 2023 and became a critical success, being lauded as perhaps the best Soulslike not created by FromSoftware. The brutal Pinocchio-inspired Souls game went on to earn nominations for Best Art Direction and Best RPG at The Game Awards, but sadly took neither home.
Made by Team Ninja, the studio known for classic franchises Ninja Gaiden, Dead or Alive, and Nioh, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty released in March to decent reviews. Set during the Han Dynasty, Wo Long squares players up against some of Chinese mythology's most fearsome beings in epic and ruthlessly challenging boss battles. Wo Long has a strong community of Souls fans who enjoy it for its relentlessly unforgiving combat.

Fans of Soulslikes are in for a treat, as Lies of P has announced and detailed its collaboration with Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. In a stylish new trailer, Lies of P showed off a new costume for Pinocchio, as well as a new glaive weapon, all inspired by Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The Azure Dragon Crescent Glaive, Bandana of the Honorable, and the Armor of the Honorable costume will become available for players to download for free on February 13.

This isn't the first time these two Soulslikes have crossed paths. Shortly after Lies of P's September launch, Wo Long players were treated to some of Pinocchio's signature weapons: the Puppet's Saber and Etiquette, a deadly umbrella weapon which is also handy at blocking attacks. While none of Pinocchio's signature costumes made it over into Wo Long, it's nice to see that Lies of P players will have yet another awesome look to add to their collection of snazzy attire.
All of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty's three planned DLCs have already been released, but there's still more in store for Lies of P fans. Shortly after launch, Lies of P's publisher Neowiz confirmed that story DLC is in the works, with the game's director also sharing some enticing artwork. While Lies of P has yet to confirm a release date for the DLC, it has confirmed that a sequel is also on the way. Perhaps fans may learn more about Lies of P's DLC and sequel sometime this year.
Lies of P
Neowiz's Lies of P is a Soulslike based on Carlo Collodi's The Adventures of Pinocchio. Set in Krat, the eponymous puppet finds themselves going up against a range of mechanical enemies that now roam this city's once lively streets. Lies of P has multiple endings, a crafting system, and a wide range of weapon types.
